Doesn't mount to bar in any way. Just won't interfere with the bar. I can't say for sure it would work on second Gen but given how similar they are it might

well, im subbed to find out if they're compatible with the gen 2 trucks. I guess we will see in the coming months! It's about time, I've had my eyes on this for a while. I still don't understand how someone can make a winch plate bumper without a place for shackles and still be wildly successful. My hat is off to ARB :hattip:

When are you getting your summit bumper installed? Mine should be in about 2 wks time give or take, depending on when it comes in.

Very cool but we make a front recovery bar with two recovery points and an integrated front hitch for not much more.

Cool, but that probably won't work with his ARB bumper he is installing. He wants a bumper that is airbag compatible and has been tested to not impeded them. This can/may have an effect on insurance for people especially in a country like the US where everyone is sue happy about stuff.

doesn't mount to the bullbar. From my understanding it mounts to factory point but also has an additional piece that goes around the boxed frame portion for added strength.

From ARB's website it says 2005+ so you could likely get away with it. After all, a lot of stuff from the 2nd gen was carried over to the 3rd gen. A lot of suspension components work on both etc

For those that have the ARB bumper what's the point of this? Can the recovery points on the bumper not be used?

    no.
the arb bumper is connected to the air bag sensors. They will tell you DO NOT do any sort of snatch recovery off the bumper. Its not rated for it. Meant only for winching or lifting as it has hi lift points. Actually the ARB bumpers don't have any place that you would even be able to mistake as a recovery point as there is no point for shackles etc.

Even with the other bumpers offered that do have shackle points I'm not sure I'd trust them to be used in a snatch recovery unless you're using a bridal to use both points.

This is for the ARB bumper that fits the 3rd gen tacomas, correct? Does this also apply to the bumper that goes on the second gen tacomas and can also be used in 3rd gen 4runners?

it has nothing to do with the bumper.
its just compatible with the bumpers as well. As some bumpers would remove the portion where this mounts.

All they are saying is it does not mount in any place where it will interfere with OEM bumper or the ARB summit bar.

oh ya not sure about the 2nd gens bumper. Never looked at it as I don't have a 2nd gen. Only looked at the 3rd gen.

But given ARB is australian and in australia its mandatory for any bumper to remain air bag compliant, I wouldn't doubt the 2nd gen is the same.

Where did you get it? I'm wondering if it will fit with the pro skid plate or any aftermarket skid plate I guess with our modification. You'll have to let us know what you think because I want to get one too.

Also curious to know if it will fit with King resi shocks. Pictures so far seem to indicate the King resi bracket will interfere
