Thats sooo ugly it scares the water out of the way...

I wonder how much noise it makes when driving down the freeway?

Hmm I didn't consider that. Maybe that's why it looks the way it does. Hopefully it isn't noisy at all. I think I'm still going to be purchasing one once I see a couple folks making the cut :)

These are extremely common here in Thailand. I think they are ugly. I also do not see any value in them. Air boxes are sealed now and air filter quality is far superior compared to when they launched some years ago on Rovers etc. Its all a gimmick IMHO. I have looked at many on various trucks here

Your engine will quit running way before you run out of air with that thing.

I agree it kinda looks goofy. The whole point is not to increase fording depth to that height but rather keep dust out. However I think JAFO makes a good point:

And on top of that, the little financial gremlin on my shoulder tells me that even if you were burning through OEM paper filters quickly, at roughly $15 a pop to replace a filter you're looking at 35 replacements before a snorkel would pay off.

I honestly considered one because I am moving to Arizona and plan on hitting the dusty trails but I just can't see the justification, especially since I have a prerunner and it would look like bro-rice and basically serve no purpose.

Was gonna say the same thing. LOL. A bit animated looking for an aggressive looking truck design.

How big of a hole needs to be cut for one of these things? Ruin a fender for this.... no thanks..

Bro-Ricers need love too! Just don't put a "Mugen" sticker on that snorkel tube. ;)

I'm not for running a snorkel, but I assume you have not replaced your air filter yet....

I'm not sure what you're getting at here... I haven't replaced a filter yet but I've had my airbox off entirely to install the LCE headers. I have the 2.7 and it's an easy job. Is it a pain in the ass on the v6 or something?

No, but they're not $15 bucks for the v6 models. They share the same filter with the Tundras and the top portion of the airbox has a secondary charcoal filter.

Ah, gotcha. I saw the secondary filter on mine too, but according to what I've seen the only way to really foul that up is to wait way too long on a paper filter change or throw an over-oiled K&N in there.

I guess it pays to have the 4 banger sometimes.

Nittori, you're in a 4 CYL and get 21.8 MPG?
