Anyone use the full ARB skid set up on their Second Gens? I posted this in the Armor section, no bites. Wanted to throw it out here.

well depending on how much you wheel, they are only 3mm thick.....less than 1/8" most steel skid plates are 3/16" thick

But they are a jump up from the stock splash plates and the difference is 2.55 lbs/sq-in or about 33% less weight going from 3/16" to 1/8". They are probably just fine if you're not 'wheeling really hard.

Okay but that one time when you do wheel semi hard you will dent the shit out of those chinsy ass skid plates. When you could get something like Mobtown, armortechs, or RCI full skidplate sets for maybe 100 bucks more.

for example - Armortech full skid set http://www.armortechoffroad.com/2005-2015-Tacoma-Skid-Plate-Set_p_11.html

This is only 670$ not including shipping. comes with front skidplate, transmission, and transfer case skid. for another 112$ you can add on LCA skids.

782$ later you have beat arbs prices and have some left over to ship it to ya. Personally i feel there is not enough talk about armortech, they have very very affordable skidplates and use some thick metal (LCA skids and IFS skid is 1/4)

Your best bet is Mobtown OP, you could drive to their facility and save on shipping costs
