I purchased a summit bumper last night, and it just dawned on me that it may cause problems. I have pro grille installed on my truck. Does anyone know if the lower location of the TSS sensor causes problems with the bumper?

If the tss has a clear line of sight, should be good to go. If you got the kind with a bar in front of the tss, your out of luck.

I was under the impression that ARB bumpers work with it. They have really stringent regs to meet in Australia. That carries over to their U.S. market. Let us know if you have trouble, because I've been looking at ordering that bumper....

I know this is an old post, but did the sensor work? On their website it says no. See point number 12

    https://arbusa.com/site/wp-content/uploads/toyotaTacoma.pdf

If it does work I might have to make a last minute change in bumper

    Hi,

Wondering if the ARB Summit worked on the TRD Pro grill and the TSS?
    Thanks!

I messaged Alex and he said it worked until he put a winch on it.

It took a while to get a reply. So I don’t know if he is on here much

Yes it works. I have the pro grille, the off road grille would work better as the sensor is up higher but the pro grille works. You just have to get creative where you mount the control box for your winch. That was one of the hardest parts of my install but im glad its hidden. Looks clean

I got this information too late for me. I am waiting for my C4 no cut bumper. Should be here soon. Best of luck on the ARB.

Thank you both. Scott, where did you mount the control box? Can you share a photo of your bumper and the control box? Thanks!

Yes please show photos of where the control box is. The ARB summit bar is the only bumper I really want and I also have a PRO grill.

    ActionHank,

I have a Warn Zeon 10 Platinum S, and it mounted right out of the box without any modifications.
You won't need to rotate the motor/housing as it's all controlled from the remote and doesn't have a clutch lever. Also the control/solenoid box will be on the back of the winch and no need to stick out of the opening on the bumper.

And your TSS system is still good to go? Thanks, I was looking at a ComeUp myself but the 10k warn is a tank. Though I would be surprised if the ARB wouldn’t accept any warn winch:militarypress:

    My TSS works fine.

Try to get the zen 10 platinum so that you won't have to relocate or rotate the box

This is going to be really hard to see but it's almost impossible to get a decent picture as its inside the bumper. One picture is from the front through the access for the winch controller to plug in, the other is from the back (just stuck my phone up inside to blindly take a picture)...

There is a bracket that comes with the xrc winch to mount the control box...its that little bracket witg a black bolt head just to the right of the winch cable. I think i had to drill a new hole in that bracket to move the box off to one side more but its not going anywhere. Not too hard to access the plug in for the remote so it worked out well

Thanks Scott! I had a '17 Taco with this bumper (worked great when I hit a pine tree at 40 mph - for anyone unsure of the bumper's safety compatibility, it is EXTREMELY safe and definitely improves the collision crush zone, all airbags deploy properly, etc) and I'm looking at throwing one of these on my new '20, which now has the TSS and front camera. Seems it will work as long as I get a winch with an adjustable control box. Was there a reason you didnt mount the box behind the winch? Thanks again!

Get a Warn Zeon with remote control.
The control box will fall on the back of the winch when you mount it on the summit and you won’t have to rotate the housing to access tge clutch as it’s all remote control. I installed it on my 2020’ trd pro no tss issues. Only problem is that your front camera view will be slightly limited but not very noticeable.
