Would like to get an Axis, but planning it in Chile since I am down here working. How do they eat?

Going home next weekend as I have and Elk and Mule Deer Tags. 21 day hunting vacation! Also, Pheasant, Ducks and Geese open when I am there; Chukar and Partridge are open now.

    Cheers,
    MW

    ARB Response:

    "Hi Michael-
We do not have a direct replacement for the E-locker. To switch to an ARB Air Locker you will need to start with an open carrier rear end.

    Best Regards,

Settles that question. Next question what is the best option to switch out the rear end?

Looked at the Chillkat which looks to be a good option if I just wanted to fix the rear. Guess I could put that lever where the e-brake is. Think I have used it twice since I bought the taco and that was probably only to retrieve something I dropped under it. Going to have to think about it and see if I can find some conversion photos where the handle doesnt look like I just installed an ejector seat! Dont get me wrong, function over looks any day, but if you can have both why not.

Eh... If I were planning on off-roading I wouldn't disable my parking brake. But that's just me. Well, OK, me and MJ.

Just waiting for my check to clear. Then my truck is going to the shop. Thinking of skidding the silly rear block and 5100's and throwing in a leaf pack and better shocks.

Hah, not much confidence there. Likely wife soon so no worries. Besides, their fun for the whole family.

Like your Taco, upgrading is better than trading for the new basic model you will want to upgrade anyway. Way to many trade-ins (women) in the past so trying a new approach.

I know what you're thinking ...... romantic huh?

Back to the lockers though; since there is nothing made for the rear I have emailed the shop that gave me the quote to see if they could stick the chilkat conversion on in the e-brake location to not make it look like shit.

Try and find Junk yard 8.4" housing to put the ARB in then sell your current housing with e-locker. Seen that done before.
