I shoot almost the exact same specs as you (28.5" draw, 29.75" arrow at 65 pounds), and I've found the 330 spines shoot very well. So if you're going to go over longer than that 29.75", that stiffer spine would definitely make sense.

Muzzy's are good solid broadheads. Truckloads of dead deer have been taken with Muzzys. As far as others, there's a bunch of good ones. Currently I'm shooting 100 gr Slick Tricks and Vipertricks. They fly with my field points out to forty yards. VPA's are extremely well made, solid one piece machined head. Sharpens easily, durable, and all reports, flies well. Magnus 2 Blade Stingers. They are a real nice COC head. Plus they have a lifetime warranty. Mechanicals? I have Wasp 100 gr Jak-Hammers. Nice solid head, fairly thick blades, fly well. No experience with any kills. Yet. And I also shoot.................Rage 1-1/2" cut 100 gr Hypodermics. Stainless ferrule, sharp sharp blades. Blood trails from buck and doe last year were, slasher movie worthy. Both deer down in seconds.

Bottom line on broadheads. First, Sharp. Scary Sharp. Sharp enough that if you look at them sideways you bleed. Did I mention sharp. Second. Make sure your bow is tuned. Whether you shoot fixed or mechs, it's important that your bow is tuned. There are a bunch of great broadheads out there. Shoot what shoots best out of your bow.

A question to you most seasoned hunters...if you sharpen your own blades, do you use a whet stone or what? I do extremely little target shooting with broad heads. I shoot field tips a lot, and shoot broad heads to fine tune. Will a Block dull the blades if only shot a couple of times? Ok, two questions.

I don’t sharpen my own blades. You want to practice some with your broadbeads. They tend to fly a little different than field tips.

honestly I dont sharpen mine, I shoot them at my block and they seem razor sharp. Only time I change them is if it hits ground and rocks and the blades are nicked up or bent. Ive hit deer with them after shooting a block multiple times and they still punch through a deer like butter on a double lung shot.

I use 2 broadheads as target only. Keep one of those 2 in my quiver when hunting just to occasionally shoot at a leaf or something from my treestand. I have not shot a field point in 25 years except for tuning. Kind rough on targets though. I only hunt with broadheads right out of the package and never resharpen. Just buy replacement blades. I cant even sharpen a knife so I'm pretty sure I cant sharpen a razor blade.

If you were reading here yesterday, you read of me talking about replacement blades which is what I use now. I use to hone my broadheads on a wet rock but got quite tired of having to do ii, and more importantly making sure the Brodhead was still balanced and true, which is why I have since gone to replaceable blade style broadheads.

I use Rage two blade 100 gr.
I do not re-sharpen my blades, I use a brand new broadhead if I am hunting.
Rage supplies a practice broadhead that doesn't open. It helps to not destroy your target/block.
