My old hunting buddy killed this one last night. A main frame 10 with some stickers. We actually called this deer stickers. Green score 152 7/8.D761FA6A-E787-4600-8B73-E6BA7E4F2371.jpg

We had a good frost last night so Im thinking the bucks will be full rut for sure now! The deer are still pretty scares in the fields right now...being chased by some bucks I assume!

Saw 4 bucks this afternoon all chasing does. Biggest one was 120 or so and walked by at 7 yards. Took a pic after he went by. Also got a good trail cam pic at 1pm on Nov 6th. Problem is, there are about 10 guys hunting REALLY close to that, so yesterday and today I moved away from the people. Found a 90 yard wide strip of oaks dropping acorns between 2 thickets. The bucks are running back and forth between the thickets with lots of does in the oaks. The last 2 days, I have seen deer from the time I climbed up until dark. Waiting on a good one. Good luck!

Has anyone ever hunted mule deer and used a decoy?

    Or whitetail I guess.

Do you use a doe in heat sent or whatever.

We’ve used decoys on numerous occasions. When using a doe decoy set it up so it’s facing away from you because the buck will approach it from the rear. When using a buck decoy a buck decoy set it up facing you because the buck will approach it from the front. You can use doe in heat on the doe decoy and I use a product called deer dander on the buck decoy I also use the deer dander as a cover scent. 14D62908-A939-46D8-9E60-931316F138A8.jpg

Worst case scenario you can use a 3-D deer target if its not all f'ed up. I have done it and it works just fine. Almost had it wrecked by a pissed off buck though.

Snowing in Michigan right now. Have to break out the hand and foot warmers. The more I hunt the more I realize I got a lot to learn. This has been an awesome first year bowhunting. Gun season next week and all I want to do is use my bow. I love guns, but it's just not the same.
