I think I remember reading or hearing somewhere that the best all around time to go is the 3rd week in February. I forget where I heard it but it was from a decently reputable source on a show or article. Always exceptions to the rule of course.

I think it may have been Midwest Whitetail. For those that have not seen their YouTube videos... You gotta watch these guys. Tons of vids, all bow hunting, and amazing camera work with great storylines and it’s free!!!

Around here I go early and often. The downside to this is,your going to the same spots 3-4 times which requires a lot of additional walking. This is pretty much necessary, the longer you wait, just gives someone else a chance to find them first. A lot of guys around here know no boundaries when it comes to shed hunting. When sheds are dropped in wooded areas, squirrels will do a lot of damage to them in a short period of time. Ideally I would like to wait till about March 15th or so because most antlers have dropped by then and would require fewer trips to each spot.

Checked cameras today and still have several bucks packing both sides,a few half racks and a few with both sides gone. I walked within 10 yards of this bedded doe then turned around and she never knew I was there.

Went bowhunting for mulies this past week. Didn’t get one. Saw many, many does and a few bucks. Best was just a 2x2 who I never quite got into bow range. Did a mix of spot and stalk and sitting water holes. Best stalk was a group I glassed up a mile away on a mountainside and just a spikehorn was there and 7 does. Saw some some elk in the higher up country (8,000-9,000 ft).

Vortex Summit. Worked great. Bought this to use with my binos for now and get a spotting scope later. What did she get for a scope? I’m thinking of a Vortex but not wanting to dish out a grand...

My wife bought me an AR for Fathers Day this past year. The year before, it was an hour on the full-auto machine gun range at the LGS.

What am I doing wrong? I bought my wife an AR 2 years ago and I bought her a Kimber Micro.380 last Christmas. Seems like if I want a gun I have to buy it myself. Speaking of buying guns, I bought this today,it’s a Panzer Arms AR-12...12 gauge topped with a Vortex red/green dot.3C478144-AFCA-473D-A895-FCBDD30DB571.jpg
