I remember last year was really hot and muggy. I bet that is why the ticks have got so bad.

Who's using Easton FMJ 5mm arrows? They look good.

I don't use them, but know plenty who do. Hard hitting arrow. About 1.2 grains per inch heavier over the comparable size carbon. Looking at an Axis 5mm in 400 spine, the bare shaft would weigh about 34-35 grains more, lose about 6-7fps. They are real similar to the ACC's that I used to shoot.

Fmj's are great for hunting, they pull out of targets easier than carbon, but they bend pretty easily

I've shot 3 with a bow over the years. Love it when they come in close.

Edit: that top pic may have been with a gun. Can't remember.

I shot the one I posted with my recurve sitting in a tree top that had been blown out in a tropical storm. Distance three yards coming in to a mouse squeak.

Finally got my SR6 quiet. Had a kinda ring when I let off, which I solved by putting another dampener on the top riser and then it has a noise when I would draw it. I took it into my shop to get a second opinion because I could not find the source. After about an half hour and having a few techs handle the bow it ended up being the stops on the cams.

Every bow has it quirks. I really like this bow, good to finally have it sorted.

How many times have your strings stretched on your new bow? This is three times I've had to adjust the peep because of stretch. I'm new to archery so I don't really have anything to compare too.

My Hoyt Hyperforce was a bit "buzzy". It came from the MBG Widowmaker sight. I tried everything to quiet it down. Still buzzed a bit. checked all the screws, placed a small piece of rubber pad between the sight mount and the riser. Turned out the flo green sight ring didn't fit tight in the housing. Ended up removing the sight ring, putting a wrap or two of packing tape around the circumference where it sits in the housing. Quieted it right down. Funny thing is, it didn't buzz on my two other bows.

String stretch? 7X since April 2018. That's right, 7X. Damn Fuse strings are garbage. Last time I had it in, I told the tech it really pisses me off that I dropped $1700 for a new rig, to be down here every other month. She said they've had multiple complaints about the strings on the Hyperforce's. I was told I could get a new set if I called Hoyt and registered a complaint. I'm like WTF.....why would I want to replace shitty strings with.....................shitty strings.

I shoot a lot, so after a month or two the strings should have been shot in and good for a couple of years. Ticks me off that with what manufacturer's charge for new bows, that they put garbage strings on. 60X is running a sale on strings and cables right now. I may pick up a set. They make really good replacement sets.

Crazy how difficult it is to find the source of a sound.

7X's! That is a lot. I've had to take mine in 3 times so far. I also shoot daily so I would think by now they should be settled. Also, is frustrating. For the cost of these bows you shouldn't have to worry about the strings stretching like this. I have debated getting better strings, but like I said, why should I even have to on a bow that cost that much.

Is it any different than the crappy tires pur trucks come with from the factory? At least strings are inexpensive. Fwiw my Gas strings haven't stretched at all

Actually it's a lot different. The Dunlops that came with my 2011 SR5 Tacoma didn't require me to go to the dealer 7X in 17 months because they were rendering the truck unusable due to abnormal wear inherent to the tire itself.
