Friend killed this one this weekend. He thinks it may be a new state record, we’ll see. North Carolina deer.

Didn’t see a deer, one I was after was in there yesterday but had to take our son to baseball practice. Pictures tomorrow, his velvet is coming off and looks awesome.

    Mmmm
So threw about a dozen down range to warm up a little for Sat.
When they felt good they were dead on.
So if I shoot Sat and miss it's all on me.

Shop Forman is going to let me hunt his land.
So next sat I’ll head over after work and scope it out with him.
Then the following weekend it’s reg archery. I’ll break out the crossbow. Lol.
They clear cut both sides of his land and he was out and lots of fresh tracks.
So maybe they are sticking tighter to his area.

Are you reporting these to the wildlife agency or what? I'm sure they already know about it, right?

They know, they also try to hide it because they’re afraid if word gets out that non-residents won’t come here to hunt. Illinois DNR is a fucking JOKE, they see our deer herd as a cash cow. They’ve been pimping our deer out for years and they’re not about to stop. Our total yearly deer kill actually declined for 7-8 years straight and the DNR’s idea of herd management was to add seasons and extended seasons...anything to sell more permits. In the end it really doesn’t do any good to report the dead deer when we find them...DNR just wants to put their heads in the sand.
