My wife left about 45 minutes ago, I’m hoping the next text isn’t about a spider but a nice buck with a hole through it!

Wife just sent me this turkey at <10 yards. Why can’t we get one closer than half a mile away when turkey season is in???? Oh I know why, cause I suck at turkey calling and there’s no corn out :D

    Mmmmmmm
So my first time in a stand was interesting.
The stand, equipment, up, down was no problem
    I had dilemma after dilemma.

    Shoot or no shoot..

    Skunk. Small one.. nope
Squirrels. Had small game arrows also. Nope didn’t want to create excitement.
Raccoon. A friggin huge one. 20 yards. Right in my wheel house.
    Yes
    No
    Yes
Nope.. again didn’t want to creat excitement.
    Dam it was right there..
    Turkey mmmmmmmmm nope.

So,I waited, hoping for a deer to wander through.
    Nothing
    Absolutely Nothing.
    Should have taken the Raccoon...

Pretty uneventful first day. My son saw a large 4 point this morning. This afternoon I had three doe feed around me for about an hour and a half. From 4:30-6-ish. The largest of the tree wouldn't come out of the thick stuff. A year and half old tempted me numerous times, but ultimately gave her a pass.

I went out yesterday morning and even with the temp drop I didn’t see anything. I probably won’t get out again until Thursday morning and Friday afternoon. Hope people start blasting some!

I'm kinda excited. Had no one to give a deer to...guy at work just asked me to shoot a doe for him. Going to my #1 early season doe spot in the morning. Wind will be perfect. :fingerscrossed:

And, best part, it's 90 yards from my truck.
