Excalibur?

I have 30 acres of standing corn down the hill about 300 yards from my stand . I wish they would cut it down

 

Nice. Been kicking around going to a Excalibur the last couple seasons.

Was 18 degrees for this morning. Decent deer movement but no big ones. Might have made a mistake by leaving home for 3 days after seeing what I had on camera cards the last time I checked them.

 

I used to have a stand within a hundred yards years ago. I just might throw one up tomorrow mid day all the deer I see are headed in that direction. I tried still hunting through it the other day in the wind but that stuff is packed up tight in there . Can’t really fit down the rows too good .

 

This is my second one . Can’t go wrong ,they are tough and not much can go wrong with them . This one is rated at 305 FPS for $499 . Good enough for me !

 

Froze my ass ofd this morning and tonight haha! 19 degrees. Saw a huge 8 point, but he didnt come in range.

 

Tomorrow Morning is suppose to be 18°.
I pulling out everything warm I have.
I’m going.
This is personal.
It’s been 50 years since my only deer was taken.
Just started back up 3 years ago.
Came close a few weeks ago.
This time the crossbow is my partner..



May go out till noon.
Maybe 10.
But I’ll be there..

 

Going to be 19 here at 7am . Bringing my thermos ,lol

 

So my buddy and his son and I are hunting on a friends landfill right now. The landfill owner and his 10 year son hunted with us today and they both killed deer tonight. They were both hunting out of the same tower stand. He killed a decent 8 pointer and his son killed his first deer, a nice doe.

 

So, I went in there today. Got climbed up at 1ish. Deer started coming out of the thicket at 1:20. First a doe and 2 small bucks, this is one of them

About 15 minutes later a doe and another small buck came out.
Then a lone doe. Then another small buck. Then, at 3, a doe and yearling came out. They stayed right on me for about 30 minutes.

At about 3:30 the wind barely shifted, the doe blew 6 times and finally ran off. All I saw after that was a coon, possum and 6 turkeys.
The wind is gonna be wrong for the next 2 days, going back in there Monday...maybe Sunday, depending on wind.
So, I saw 9 I think, at least there's still deer in there. Hoping a big one comes in and checks those does.

Shit Dam Dam Dam.
It’s a 6 pointer.
They are skirting my section. About 60 yards around the edges of some clearing.
So next week if they won’t come to me I’ll go to them. I’ll set up on the ground in the near corner.
Seen about 8 total there.
Oh yea.

It was dam cold.
But it was livable.
