Well, I am not saying that burning the house down would rid you of your chores, but... Lol! Just kidding man! Just get out when/if you get the chance. This year I have only been out for like 6 sits total and none have been since the action has been kicking off since I live so far from where I hunt and have big exams coming up for PA school. The deer aren't going anywhere so just get out when you can!

So, I went into the swamp yesterday at around 1ish. About 30 mins later a small 8 came by at about 45 yards. Then, nothing for about an hour or so. Later, 3 does came in to my right (east). They chomped on acorns for a while then got slightly spooked and trotted back in farther. Then they calmed down. I looked directly behind me and saw a deer at 50yds. Head was behind a tree, couldn't tell what it was. It caught my scent and went over to a thicket on my left. I'm almost positive it was the same buck I ended up shooting later.
Anyhow, a few minutes later another doe walked by at 15 yards. Then 4 more came in. One directly behind me at 30 yards, 3 to my right at 40. It's starting to get pretty dark and the doe behind me looked past me with her ears perked up. I looked ahead and here he comes at about 80 yards. Straight to me. Well, of course he veered to my left when he was about 60 yards out so I voice bleated twice and hit the grunt call once or twice. That straightened him up but he was still gonna pass pretty far away. I thought, "what the hell, I'm putting my 20 (single pin) on him and rolling with it. When I drew back my spit bottle fell out of my pocket (course it did) and he stopped for about 2 seconds behind a tree. When he started walking I drew, bleated to stop him in an opening and shot. I knew I hit him but not sure where. He ran about 60yds and kind of did that backpedal thing they do right b4 they fall over. But he forgot to fall over. Then he took off north as hard as he could go. I never heard him crash cause it's so damp in there. I decided I would mark the spot where he was standing and go home. When I went over there, there was blood all over the place. His initial run was the same direction as my truck so I started walking out. But when I saw how much blood there was I decided to slowly follow it. I found him probably 100 yards total from where I shot him.
    Sorry bout the long story.
I haven't had one mounted in 15 years or so, I caped out this one, he goes to the taxidermist Monday morning. (Wife gave me the thumbs up)
    Thanks again!

    Mmmm
    Another cold morning tomorrow.
Going to forgo the stand and move 50 yards to the edge of a clearing.
They have been walking through there near a big fallen oak. A little swampy
And I have not been through there so I’m going to have to wait a little longer and pick my way
    To that tree.
I’m going to try and set up behind it and use the tree as a rest.
I’ll be bringing my Dead Ringer hammock seat if there is a tree I can use for a backup.
Wind should be coming into my face and the deer go left to right.
I can’t just stay in the same spot anymore.
So if I can get there and get comfortable I’ll have a chance.
    Something new.
    We will see..
