I bought a decade before I had no choice, I totally get were your coming from. The bitch of the situation was that at the same time of my shoulder surgery, I was also having surgery on my left hand. So I've been dealing with double atrophy in both arms and 2 years later I'm still only at about 70% recovery And I'm only 47. So stall as long as you can take it.

That sucks, after insurance, I still had to pony up 6 grand between the surgery and theory witch lasted a year +, by the way, so yes stall as long as you can. hopefully your is less painful than mine is. Because mine sucks ASSSSS! Every day is a journey!

Im very careful in what I do to not damage it any further. Its weird I can pull a bow back but sometimes picking up a glass of water causes severe pain. I know doesnt make sense but something is messed up.

    Its nice getting old :frusty:

This!! Had this problem for years!! Nice to know that I'm not the only one. Shot my first turkey this year, took five tries to get bow pulled back to full draw!! Two hours before that I put 3 arrows into a target without a frickin' hitch. Torn rotator cuff years ago, then had shoulder separated twice when working in the oil patch. The struggle is all too real.

Just picked up a new (used) bow yesterday. High Country Archery speed pro x10

Never heard of it before but it shot well enough. Traded a light bar for it.
Gonna take it for a hunt this weekend

Good luck hunting! High country's are pretty good bows, they've been around quit a long while. What are you hunting?

I picked up my first bow this past weekend. It's a bear cruzer adjustable compound bow. I did some internet research before purchasing and it seemed like a good starter bow. Anyone have any input or advice on the bow? It's set at about 60lbs at the moment with a 29" draw. I plan on doing some target shooting, but also hunting in the Sierra Nevadas near Truckee/Soda Springs. I've gun hunted before, but this will be my first time using a bow. Any tips or tricks to help me learn how to properly use this thing are appreciated! I already learned about string slap.

Shoot, shoot, and shoot some more. I don't know if you went to a bow shop and had it set, draw length and such, for you but I definitely would.

Practice with estimating distance and have pins set for them. Make sure your broadheads hit the same as your field points.
