I think that's the same bow my buddy has. I had him give it to me so I could sight it in and make sure his broad heads were hitting correctly. What a difference in technology the new bows are. Jumpy, inconsistent, slow. Good job on the upgrade

I’ll be honest, this old bow has been really good to me. In 10 years I Harvested 15 dear, 2 axis, and 2 hogs with it. Only missed 4 animals. But I’m excited to move up in the technology scale.

Do you have the correct size draw length cam? If not I have another brand new cam and 60lb. limbs that I have never used. Not sure what draw length it is for sure. I have a short draw length so I had it changed before bringing it home. Anyway, if you need a different size I can look and see what size it is for sure.

I haven't read through this entire thing so if it has been answered just point me that way.
I want to get back into archery and am looking for any black Friday deals I've checked the obvious cabellas and dicks sporting goods but any other tips would be appreciated.

Not sure where you are located, but I would find an archery pro shop in your area. They will be far more helpful than Cabelas or Dicks in getting you set up.

A few more from the archives.

This one, because it has two Toyota's in it.

    2001-Doe 5.jpg

This one is from 2004. We had hunted for a week, second week in October. Plenty of opportunities, couldn't make good. The last day, we had to pack and leave around 10am. I needed to be home, as my wife was working second shift. When I woke that morning, my right knee was swollen and black and blue. Six days in a row of humping thirty pounds of pack and treestand close to two miles every day was taking it's toll on an already messed up knee. Still, got up, geared up and headed up the hill. 9:15am this doe gave me what I thought was 30 yard shot. Turned out to be 43 yards. She went about 40 yards and piled up.

Like I said before, never quit, never give up.

This has nothing to do with hunting, but I swear to God every time I see this one I laugh hard.

My first archery deer circa 1991, 2 weeks after I got married. All 39 pounds of him.

I shot this deer years ago in January. His foot was in really bad shape. I watched him take 3 painful steps in the course of an hour. Each step he took, he almost fell over. It was a put him out of his misery thing.

Sorry about the poor quality of pics, I took a pic of a pic with my phone.

So I got a couple pics to show finally. Big bucks are super unpredictable but I’m sure gonna chase this one around. Look how close the one house is in the background. That’s neighborhood hunting baby!

if I had been in my stand he would have walked well within bow range.
