its sparse here, I see some good bucks on camera but they are just cruising through looking for a late doe, not really on a pattern.

Quite a few things at this point..
I LOVE archery, but I'm not one who does it for sport or hunting, I do it for fun and marksmanship. I use a takedown recurve bow by Martin, limbs in both 25# and 45#, Black Holes target, and an archery net. Very simple set up for me, but it makes me happy :D

Yeah, my old home state of TN used to have a fall season. That ended when I moved to GA. 3 gobblers per year here. March-May.

Can you really call yourself a hunter if you haven't forgotten or lost something important?

A few years back, during archery season, we hiked back to our spots, I cooled down a bit, stripped off the layers I wore in, got all geared up, set my climber, jacked twenty+ feet up the tree, put my hooks in, hang my pack, pull up my bow, release, facemask....we're all good to go. Starts to get lighter out....seems hazy. No, it's blurry. Sonova...Left my glasses laying on a log when I changed my upper layers. FML.... Lower the bow, put my back on, go down, grab my glasses and repeat everything I just did, only much grumpier.

Yeah I gave the ol college try, but I replaced the laces with bungee cord so they are easy on easy off, ended up shoe less a few times with at least on stuck in some muck

Back when we hunted an hour and fifteen minutes from the house I drove up one day after work just to put some corn and peanut butter out to get ready for a weekend hunt. Got all the way there and realized I forgot my key to the gate. Put the corn on my shoulder and carried the peanut butter in the other. It was close to a mile one way from the road to the stand. Man, I miss being young, I do good to carry it to the truck to drive it to the spot to put it out now :D

First time late season elk hunting in eastern Washington, which means fuckin cold. Holy shit. Saw so many other dudes. No animals though. That spot is burned, won't be going back there. Time to scour on-x in desperation. I swear every time I blew a cow call a different orange hat popped up out behind a tree

Went out yesterday evening and things were a little whacky. I had a young 8 pointer come in like 40 mins from legal shooting light. He came in and bedded down like 45 yards away. 2 does came in and got spooked by him when they saw him bedded down. Then a fox came in and was acting crazy which didn’t even phase the does or bedded buck. Then the does start to walk away and I was going to get one for my friend (who is older and needs deer meat) and I say “Meh” and the doe takes 3 steps and stops behind brush. Damn it!

Then another young buck (I could only see antlers but too dark to tell specifics) comes in to my left and ends up finally following where the does went. Then... I hear a bunch of snorting a loooong ways away. The only culprit is the neighbor above where I hunt. It’s getting super dark at this point and next thing I know I have deer who were ran off (from I’m guessing the neighbor) right underneath my stand but it’s too dark to shoot. I had to wait a long time to even sneak out.

Moral of the story I did not see the nice 10 pointer but had lots of last minute action. I may try and get out tomorrow but calling for a good amount of rain. I’ll keep you guys posted. I want to at least get a doe for that lady to have some meat since she is retired and living on a budget and always appreciates me giving her deer meat.

I get so sick and tired of lazy ass hunters. My son and I hunt on a 1000 acre property. We due our due diligence scouting, hanging stands early, hunting when the wind is right.... I pulled some trail cam cards on Wednesday, which is right by two of our stands. this morning I'll be damned if there isn't a ladder stand withing thirty yards of our one hang-on. Pink florescent tape hanging everywhere. More and more I am finding so called hunters scouting and looking for stands and setting up on top of others. On top of it, we are supposed to mark all our stands with our name phone number and hunting license number. Found three additional stands with no info. Possible they belong to the two trespassers I kicked off on Wednesday. Claimed they didn't need permits. I told them the cost of trespassing is MUCH higher than the cost of the permits. Entitled douche bags.....

Dealing with some disrespectful hunters also. They Mark their property with no trespassing signs but drive their utv all over another persons property right by my ladder stand, where i got permission to hunt.they didnt get permission to even cross on it i found out today., so the landower called the guy.
