Hello! I'm a longtime Toyota owner but a new Tacoma owner. I just found the Tacoma World forums and was happy to find an ARCHERY thread! I've been a bowhunter for 20 years and am excited to get to try and hunt antelope with a bow in Wyoming this year. Glad to hear you had a great experience.

I used a rifle for the goat  It’s possible to get them with a bow, the one I got was on his way to water.

    Anyways. Welcome to TW!

Thanks! I'm going to give it my best "shot" with a bow. As I'm sure you know, just being there and trying will be a great time.

100% agree, they are great bows!
Welcome! Can't wait to hear how your hunt goes. I've been building points in Wyoming for elk, deer and antelope.

I got Vortex and then turned around and bought their binos also. Great products and unmatched customer service.

yeah, i was seeing how sharp it was and a little piece knicked me...barely felt it. This prob a little small but definitely see how lethal they can be

I've been working on process of my shot. Making sure the mechanics throughout the entire draw until release is ideal. And ive been doing this with NockOn Silverback release. When I first started my shots were a mess. But now....I feel like a much much better archer. Granted this is 20yds, I'm super pumped that I'm getting the same results over and over. I highly suggest anyone to do the same. Go through the mechanics and not some much, "let's see my grouping at such and such yardage." It will pay dividends in the end.

Yep that’s how it was explained to me. Which is why I shot for a week and a half before fine tuning my sights and working on my groups. Now I’m drilling arrows on arrows fairly often

The bad thing was I had to adjust my sights some when I first started shooting (because I quickly sent three brand new victory arrows about 6” deep in a maple log my target was sitting on) and the natural instinct was to continue sighting in. Had to fight that one internally lol

I’m a big firearms guy so to shoot out of zero took some serious internal fighting but I made it.

my main struggle now is that my bow is hurting my shoulder. Pride says to not drop my draw weight because I’m young and in good shape.. I’ve taken three days off from shooting and am going to pick it back up tomorrow to see how it goes. Old football injuries have been brought to the surface by shooting this bow (arguably too much at once at first).

That's how I explained it to my son when I started to teach him. I want you to focus on perfect form and execution of the shot. Groups will take care of themselves. Nice shooting!

Another tip, and this one is after the bow is tuned and form is good, is the one arrow cold shot. My first arrow placement will determine if I continue to shoot. If that first cold arrow is not where I want it, the bow goes away till the next day. Requires focus and dedication to stopping if the shot is bad. We don't get warm up shots in the woods or mountains, so I practice like I hunt.

Finally had a day off and time to install the jbk string set. Overall I think he makes the best strings in the industry. Colors are od green, tan, dark brown pin stripe in 454 material. I wish I would have went buckskin Instead of tan, the “tan” is actually brown. The pin stripe really pops in person though. Got bare shafts touching fletched at 30.

These new cams are stupid easy to tune. Even for most guys who ain’t tuning junkies you can get bare shafts to fly with fletch out to 20 super easy. If y’all are in the market I highly suggest finding the nearest dealer and giving one a chance.

Sharp looking bow! Would you please explain what you mean by "bare shafts to fly fletch"? I thought bare shaft tuning was without any fletching?
