Ya I mean when you shoot 2-3 bare shafts you want them to group with the fletched arrows.

The standard is 20 yards which imo is plenty far enough for most guys. I have ocd and like to push the limits, always stopped at 30 yards before but with the new platform I’ve pushed it to 40 yards. Looks like a freaking laser beam coming outta the bow.

Every bow I bareshaft tune I can screw on any fixed blade and they shoot with fletched arrows. I’ve been doing it for years. Paper tuning works, but shooting bare shafts at distance seems to work better for me.

Thanks for the explanation. I also like to "walk back tune." I feel like it helps fine tune it a bit more and essentially helps make the bow more forgiving.

    FYI....

Camofire.com has Crispi boots on sale. If you're looking for decent backpacking/mountain hunting boots check 'em out.

Nice. I have crispi Nevada’s. Hunted with with them last year not one blister. The one day I wore my old Chippewa snake boots I got 4 blisters

Facing breaking in new boots on an actual trip is a definite nightmare. Did it in Colorado last year but just got lucky and never got any blisters from it

I'm currently not in the market. I picked up a pair of Lowa Camino GTX's for $100. NIB. Bowsiter bought them, didn't fit right. I asked what he wanted, he said $100 plus shipping. Best deal I ever scored!

Yea I came across a gander mountain that was closing and scored a pair of rocky high top camo boots for $55. That’s what I hunted Colorado in and loved them

I have the Thor GTX boots. Had zero foot problems straight out of the box.

    Swhacker vs rage?

    any practical experience?

my research shows rage provides an epic entry and exit but has a tendency to deflect, and not great at long distance

swhacker is great at penetration but has a 1” entry wound unfortunately

Tried rage. Lost too many deer. Sold them. Not a fan of fully mechanical broadheads cause I think if you shoot one quartering they don’t open or don’t open fully. Went back to a fixed and have been happy ever since.

Yep rage is good for broadside shot. I switched to muzzy and G5 fixed blades and never went back

What broadhead does everyone use for Turkey? The spring season is almost up, but want to prepare for fall.
