Yea I had tags for second rifle in CO last year and it was a blast. Wish I had mule tags cause I was within 20 yards of half a dozen over the course of 10 days. One I could have probably killed with a rock if I wanted to

hoping they are that dumb everywhere cause this year I’ve got tags for them too

    There she is.

super comfortable pack. Only pack I’ve worn that rivals the comfort of my osprey. Gonna start hiking with it and report back on its tested comfort

Gunna do a throw back bow hunt with the other pro staffers from Bowtech this year. Had the factory dip one of my older Bowtech equalizers in subalpine. I love the current stuff but this was so far ahead of its times it’s not even funny. Still one of my favorites. Looking forward to getting the new dip all bloody!

Yes, there are elk in PA. And as usual the PGC screwed bowhunters. For the last 20 years or so, there has been a draw for elk in PA. Unsuccessful hunters would gain a point if you didn't draw. Last year they started a separate archery draw, but if you applied for the archery hunt, regardless of points acquired in previous draws, you started at zero.

Anyhow, come August 29th I'll be heading to northern Colorado. DIY, truck base/spike camp hunt. Had a physical on Monday. Got a clean bill of health from the doctor along with a prescription for Diamox for any altitude sickness. Big diff going from 500' to 9,500+ feet.

I like First Lite, but the deal was to good to pass up on the Kuiu 1/2-zip.

Yea I live on the coast and went to hunt near montrose. 24’ of elevation to 9500 was indeed a tough one to cope with haha

Also if it makes you feel any better. I’m from Texas, own 200 acres of prime whitetail land (where I grew up) and I have to pay out of state tags to hunt my own property. No way to get dual residency, no leniency on the price.. no way around it.

hunting laws are there for a reason I know. But some of them are plain stupid

I've been long distance mentored by several guys that have a combined 100 years elk hunting experience with 60+ kills. Definitely fortunate. Now if I could just get them to be a packer.

Lol we are taking two extra guys to Montana that are just gonna pack stuff out for us. They wanted to come but couldn’t afford the tags. Not something I’d personally volunteer for but hey, I’m not complaining

I dunno.....depending on the situation, if I didn't draw a tag or have $$ for the tags, it's not a bad way to pick up experience. E-scouting and long distance mentoring is great, but absolutely nothing beats boots on the ground. Even from a logistics standpoint of getting there, calling set-ups, breaking a elk down that decided it needed to die in the most God awful hell hole....

Ok, this “deer” showed up on one of my trail cams. I can’t tell if it’s a messed up doe or a messed up buck. No clear shot of the under carriage.
