Not a lot of acorns here this year.
The thing that's affecting me is a lot of corn still standing to the west of me. The bedding area is between me and all that corn. All the corn to my east is cut.
In years past the corn to the east was always the last to come down.

We have so many this year I’m sure the deer don’t know what to do. I haven’t seen half this many in the past few years hunting down here. The deer seem to just be wandering around aimlessly eating acorns damn near everywhere and at the same time they are nowhere. Might take me a bit but I’ll figure them out.

I'll take that over no mast and uncut soybean. There's always one or two really mature white oak that the deer seem to favor. Well, except for this year.

Well I’m pretty bummed. I got up this morning and drove out to a property but realized on the way I hadn’t asked permission yet. I didn’t want to call him if he wasn’t up. I got there and all the lights were still off so instead of staying and “maybe” being in the wrong.. I drove home and went back to bed. Hopefully your mornings are a bit better

I just do one thing out of integrity every year. I think it makes up for the horrible person I probably am.
I ended up getting in touch with him and he said he would have been fine with it and I should have just gone out haha. But tomorrow is a new day and hopefully the deer are moving. Dropped from 76 yesterday to 43 today. Will remain cold for at least a little while.

Our realtor came by to meet a guy who wanted to look at our property today and he ask me to come out with him. He said his wife had this bow and wanted to know if we wanted it for our son. He gave it to him. Hopefully he’ll be able to pull it back soon, only goes down to 30 lbs and he’s 8. I know Parker is out of business, I didn’t know they made a solo cam bow though.

Got my 8 and 6 year olds kicked off with a PSE guide youth bow that goes down to 8 lbs.

In funny news, I sent that Matthews Reezen to my best friend’s son who’s 16. It’s probably 40lb draw and he couldn’t draw it. It made for a good shit talking session. Don’t worry, he’s a good sport and is working toward getting strong enough. We weren’t too mean about it

Little off topic, but I bought a new home last month. It has an awesome entry way for deer mounts, and a master closet the size of a bedroom. Now I can store all of my hunting clothes and firearms/accessories together.
