I literally laughed out loud reading that lol. I haven’t hunted once yet this year under 85. Florida hunting is different, it’s an acquired taste almost. Hot, humid, buggy, nasty. I wouldn’t trade it for nothing.:) Soon as this tropical storm rolls through, I’ll be out there again lol. Cheers and I hope you put the smack down on one soon.

Taking a break today also. Been in the 70s during the day . Cool at night high 30s low 40s . I think mid day is best right now even though it’s warm. Bucks probably very active at night and bedding longer in the AM . :notsure: . Have some things I need to get done today anyway  Rifle opens the 21st . So 2 more weeks to hunt with crossbow . Have a bear tag and doe tag !

Took yesterday and now today off from hunting. Got see the doc today.
Think I'll freshen up the hunting clothes and get ready for the change in the weather. Maybe rain tomorrow and then the temps drop.
Lots of nice bucks out there.

Congratulations to both of you. I didn't know she hunted.

So hunted in buffalo, ny and had a blast. Experienced the rut like I’ve never seen before. Buddy’s dad is the landowner and insisted on hunting with us out there. Posted up about 60 yards from my stand. As I was standing to prepare to draw my bow on this 8 point (he was standing 55 yards from me), I heard his dad’s crossbow fire :annoyed:

kicker was that his dad didn’t have a good shot and ended up with a gut shot. We backed out and tracked him 5 hours later.

    170lbs field dressed

Bowhunter and former engineer for an archery accessory manufacturer. Haven't had any luck yet this season, but hopefully luck will change. :fingerscrossed:

I did have a neat little encounter the other day, I'm sure I'll take some flak for not having my bow on hand for this but such is life. I was standing outside and Jr came up within about 10 ft of me. (Sorry for popping noise and shaky cam).

Lol nah they invited me up, but he was ruthless when it came to hunting.

he also gave me about 50lbs of meat to take home. I was just bitching to be funny, my experience was valuable, a kill would have just been icing on the cake

also, being new to archery, there were shots that a More experienced bow hunter would have taken. Since I was on someone else’s land I wasn’t going to take the chance of injuring something because I needed to send an arrow lol

Hey everyone, between baby and work I haven't gotten on here as much as I want. However I have been out every weekend,
And been skunked every time. Had a nice 4 point close in to 30yds but he stayed right behind a tree rubbing and eating some berries.
Rifle opens Sat, so now im going to focus on just getting meat back in the freezer after that im back hard on the bow!
I spent some time playing with distances and elevations.1109201424_HDR.jpg 1109201425a.jpg
Oops! but on the plus side, look at the penetration:D
    1109201432.jpg
Then it all came back :D

Plus this 70° weather is not helping things over here

I've waited my ass off to go in my favorite spot but the wind shifts to the north tomorrow so in I go. It's a much better early afternoon/evening spot so I'm thinking I'll go in around 11ish and camp out till dark. I figure one of 3 things will happen:

    1. There will be big bucks running around all over the place (lol)
    2. Some other fathead will already be in there
    3. I won't see shit
Regardless, that's my plan and I'm sticking to it.
