Those mounts are sheds from his "stud" deer. The other side of those displays is covered up as well. They are put on display about this time of year at his sporting goods store Shoals Outdoor Sports, (luckily I get gear at cost +10% because of my wife working for another company of his). The lodge is Hurricane Creek.

those are farm deer;) it would be extremely rare to find a buck like that in the wild ever...because most people would shoot the buck before it got half that big.

I agree with both of these sentiments.

Lol we do get 4 buck tags! But I have also burned out many spots by over hunting. I just started hunting with game cameras 2 years ago and it has really changed how I bow hunt. If a deer I want is not showing up during day light I will not hunt the spot. Typically your stand is best the first couple times out.
I have only had the big 8 in once during light since I knocked down his buddy. Im going to wait till he is regular again and catch him slipping.

Yep, farm is the key word. However I know my pics suck, but look at the plaques underneath, most of those deer are only a couple years old.

Nice. I had the 8 on camera the next night after shooting the 8 with kickers but since then he has been a no show during shooting hours. I've only hunted the spot once this year. Too many deer coming threw my spot to fool.

Is it hunting if the deer can only run as far as the fence line?

Granted if I ever saw a giant like that in the free range woods I'd prob freak out, being it is on a deer farm regardless if its 500 or 50,000 acres its still a farmed deer. To me its not fair chase.

Looks like he might just be a late bloomer and still has his summer coat.

Like wilcam said, these things are farm animals. For doctors and lawyers and such to hang a trophy on the wall. It's basically buying a mount. And the fact is, those people may or not know, because they're not hunters.
