No, I don't carry a wallet. I have one in my hunting bag that I keep my tags and stuff in, when I get ready to hunt I throw that wallet and my other hunting stuff in my pockets and zip them up. I'm thinking it fell out last night in the parking lot when I was emptying my pockets. (I don't carry a bag or fanny pack with me to the tree, I'm weird like that)

No bag or backpack for me either, if I can’t get it around my neck or in my pockets then I don’t need it.

I keep my tags and DL in my KUIU bino harness. There’s a perfect spot for it. Like you, I don’t carry a pack unless the terrain requires it.. that way my range finder, binos, and licenses are all right there with me. It’s the only way I can keep up with them. I’ve also taken to clipping my release to that same bino harness.. had to make the walk of shame to get my release too many times this year

I can't for the life of me find a good starter left hand for my daughter. I'm lookin for a cheap starter ready to shoot type. Delivery to here is after January 10th.
    Anyone have any ideas?

Also need good target arrows for both her and myself.

I got my 9 year old a PSE guide bow off of Amazon. I certainly wouldn’t allow her to hunt with it but it adjusts super easy to allow her and her 6 year old sister to get used to shooting a bow

if she’s older or you’re trying to find something she can hunt with, my comment is useless lol

I can’t do it without a backpack. Most of the time I just have a nalgene, game bags, knife, bone saw, and my climbing in it. Late season I pack layers into it so I don’t sweat on the walk to where I want to setup because I am usually 3/4 of a mile or more. Also I quartered out a deer with a mini griptilian (2.9” blade folder) last year when I was way back there and didn’t want to hike out twice and it sucked.

Saw a few more deer tonight from a tree. 3 saw me move and busted so I moved a few feet lower and a few minutes later I watched this smaller 8 point for probably 30 minutes at 120+ yards. Making an adjustment tomorrow morning. Cold and heavy winds.

Can anyone comment on how old this deer looks? He looked 2.5 or 3.5 when I was out. The bad pictures I got through binos look like he is 3.5 to me but I don’t know. Can’t decide if I would shoot him but if he gives me a good shot I probably would because he is bigger than anything I killed. I have locks from other angles but not many better quality.

My personal rule...if it's bigger than anything I've killed, I'm shooting it. No matter how old it is.

I got a lot of tags left in that case. I was thinking if I got a buck that wasn’t a giant early in my break I’ll probably drive and camp somewhere outside the city and try to kill a bigger one. 2 bucks in Missouri and 2 more (3 total) in Mississippi. I doubt I’ll ever get close to filling them all

They're generally bigger up by St. Louis than they are down here. Generally.

If that was an Illinois deer I would guess 2 1/2 but, I don’t know what the relative size of a Mississippi deer is, I’m guessing they’re smaller.

I’m almost to the point if I see a deer, I’m sending lead, not quite there but getting close.

This is St. Louis. Sorry for the confusion. River bottom that is 50-50 CRP and 10 ish year old sycamores (I think?) farmland is maybe 1/2 a mile from where I saw him so I’m sure they eat their fill of beans and corn earlier in the season.
