Its like the price of 4 bows in one. That's out of control. But I guess if you can find somebody that will pony up the cash because they think it's the best one out there, Them I say sell sell sell!.

you get to a certain point and you are no better off if you get a cheaper bow, If you cant aim or shoot a cheaper bow, what makes people think that a $1900 bow will make them shoot any better?

golf clubs are the same way! I compare golfing and archery very often, You can have all the best equipment and it still comes down to each individual shot!

Agreed. My buddy shoots a Matthews and I shoot a Bear, huge price difference. Is my buddy's bow nicer as far as fit/finish and build? Yes, but at the end of the day I match him arrow for arrow at any of the distances we shoot.

    Those look sweet.

I'm getting antsy guys. I leave tomorrow at 4 am to get my elk. They should be well into the rut now. They were just barely talking last weekend and shutting up during the day. First elk I can get a clean shot on is going down :).

I agree on the shooting part, but I will have to disagree on one of the most crucial parts of bow hunting which is sound. My Matthews is far superior in being quiet over my beer. With that said, I got my Matthews for a hell of a discount so it made it well worth it. I would have never paid the price they ask for a brand-new Matthews either

I never said my Bear was a better bow than my buddy's Matthew. I said his was definitely nicer fit/finish and overall build, resulting in lighter, faster and quieter bow. But I can shoot just as well as he does. I too would upgrade to a Hoyt or Matthews, but the sticker shock is what keeping me haha.

    $1,900?!?!! Fuck that.

Guys around here getting them fully set up for around $1,300. That seems to be the norm to me, as far as past bows I've owned.

I got my bow fully set up at $900. Entry level bow, high end accessories. Can't complain about it.

I purchased my Matthews from a coworker for $300.00. It was 3 years old, and he needed cash. I like it a lot, but my old Martin was just as deadly.

Do you guys want to hear my latest bow. As you have read a few pages back I had to go left-handed so my Matthews now sites.
I picked up a brand new Darton left handed DS 700 for $127, ($900 bow), paid $36 ($80 sight) Axion soul hunter 5 pin off eBay, and paid $50
($110 arrow rest) QAD Drop away off of eBay for a total of $213. I done think I did pretty good on this set up!

Well yet another obstacle to my bear hunting...some elk hunters camped out not 100yds from where my bait is set up...I elk and deer hunt too but at least have the courtesy to move on to different place if you are told theres a bear bait close by....This is a continuing battle to get a nice bear. Ive been logged out, burned out, the tree that my stand was in lightening stuck a tree maybe 6ft away that caught the woods on fire briefly. The bear I do see are so far away a sniper would have a hard time shooting. there hasnt been any bear coming to my bait now...so I guess thats hunting but bear has been a challenge to say the least.

Archery season ended tonight, never did get another chance at an elk. Now onto helping my uncles with rifle elk this week and then New Mexico for bear.

I'll still post picture on here if ya want but if not that's fine too.

Yeah bow prices are freaking ridiculous. But as long as people are willing to plunk down their cash, the price will continue to rise. Gear, camo, arrows/broadheads all just follow suit. Just think about this: Fred Bear took more game of more species than most all of us combined will EVER SEE!!! All while using a recurve bow, sporting a plaid, wool jacket and smoking a cigar while doing so. It's the man, not the machine!!!
