No thank you , I'll still rather have my G5 strikers, and I've found the same results with both crossbow & compound. Those thunderheads are just to long for my liking, that's a lot of surface out there to get pushed around by the wind.IMO

I have used them for 12 years with no issues, only shooting compound though. Tried and true, old school - that's what I like.

My boss gave me his large selection of broadheads to shoot when I was deciding. He has just about anything you can buy from cabelas or sportsmans for under $50. Couldn't get them to group well, and had to zero in specifically with the broadheads.

Did some research and found these. Since it was my first year shooting I wanted every advantage I could get. To my surprise they hit just slightly lower than my field tips. Since I use a single pin sight, I just use a marker to mark the small change from 20, 30 and 40 yds. Worth it in my opinion. Once I know the difference I just go back to shooting field tips.

The best part is the 3 new ones fly just as perfect as the two I have from last season. Plus, made in USA is a bonus.

Hell yeah man. Whatever gives us the most confidence out there! Especially with the animals you're shooting...deer are small potatoes compared to elk.

Yup to each their own, just too much money in my opinion, I'm sure they are nice. I use mostly nap thunderheads and have had success with slick tricks and G5 montecs.

Yeah, if i sold these extras I would bring the price down a lot. Hook someone up with the opportunity to try them. They were $80 last season and I swindled a military discount as well. Had no problem paying the extra this time around.

I use ramcat but since I launched one into a tree this season in probably gonna by some 2 blade rage hypos next year. They've destroyed everything I've seen them shot at. image.jpg
Entrance, I didn't get an exit picture. It blew through and went into a tree another 30 yards behind it.

I use rage hypos and have no complaints. Apparently it was a HUGE improvement when they moved away from the small rubber bands and towards the new plastic shock collar. I happened to get into archery hunting after that transition. :D

Those plastic rubber bands were the reason I stopped using mechanicals after literally one hunt. I had one pass through the deer without opening up. Still killed the deer, but that was it for me. I went back to fixed, and I have never looked back. 90% of my hunting buddies use mechanicals now, and they haven't had any issues. I know that experience was an anomaly, but my fixed broadheads are still doing the job just fine.

Yeah I've heard horror stories with the rubber bands. It all comes down to preference as well as flight performance from your bow.

well we had some success last night, the neighbors that are hunting the bear bait with me have successfully got a bear. It was the lady's first bear (she's 65) and she was excited!! It was with a rifle but still a good kill. It maybe ran 40yds but was probably dead at 20yds. Not a huge bear but still nice. It weighed in at 160lbs

Ive never had a mechanical fail, and they leave some big olde holes. But I just have more confidence in a fixed blade. I am on the Slicktrick std bandwagon, fly great, awesome blood trails.

I may or may not be missing 12 days of school for this. But it's ok.

Nice, I could't pull that off if I tried. I get to dart an elk next week for class though. That counts as hunting, right?
