Ok for early season. It was about 47 degrees this morning. Will hit 75-ish this afternoon. Acorns are dropping and the deer will be hitting them and hour or so before dark.

Of course I don’t see a thing today but, I go to my boys house and I see 8 within a mile of his.

Saw three more this evening. Must be getting softer in my old age. Last doe came in around 6:45pm. Fed back and forth at about 15-18 yards. Broadside. Picked up the bow twice... let her walk. Was a fine evening!!

While this used to be true for me when I could hunt my land I lived nearby.. it’s no longer true. I’ve already told my buddy that lives on my property that if it’s brown, it’s gonna get an arrow flung at it

ate tag soup in CO, so now it’s time to put some meat in the freezer when I drive back home to Texas next week. Looks like we’ve got some decent movement early morning so here’s hoping. I’ll be there at the beginning of a cool front, right after some rain, and at a good phase of the moon.

I'm back! Well... Sort of. I'm still in physician assistant school, but will be done in December. I don't have much time to hunt but I try and get out as much as I can. Didn't even get a deer last year which was unusual since I normally get at least a doe. Anyway, I got a nice doe on our opening day here in VA. She was at 25 yards but at an extremely steep incline.

First deer with Grim Reaper broadheads. When they say "Watch em drop"... She barely went 15 yards! Great to get a nice one down finally!!!

Well I hunted a new mgnt area this weekend. Scouted some before the hunt and saw some decent deer on camera. But only saw does and hogs this weekend. The hogs were difficult to get pics of as they stayed in the swamp behind me. I didn’t feel like dragging one out so they got a pass. I was 20 foot up a cabbage palm that overlooked a smaller cabbage palm. One of my favorite set ups.

Going to spend the day over there tomorrow; 62° in the morning and 78° in the afternoon. A little warm, but could be worse.
