Man, this place is deader than week old roadkill.... Archery seasons are gonna kick off in 3-3-1/2 months. Colordao elk, just under 3 months. I've been working out, hiking with a pack, still trying to recover from COVID. I'd say my lung capacity is back to 90-95%. Shooting 4-5X a week.

I was looking for a puffy to add to my elk pack load out. Just something for when the mornings are in the 20's which is a definite possibility. Came across this REI 650 puffy over Memorial Day weekend. Weighs 11oz and packs down to around the size of a soup can. As typical with REI, quality is good, fit is perfect. With it being 90 degrees out, I'll have to wait to see how well it insulates.

    What's everyone else up to?

Recovering from my second hand surgery this year, pretty limited as to what I can do. Once it’s healed up I’ll start mowing roadways and food plots, then discing and planting.

Building two 20 gallon hanging feeders, because they don’t make any lol. I have a few 50 gallon ones and a 30 gallon one. I just wanted something smaller for the tighter spots I hunt.

I’ve got an oversized 18 foot single stand to put together and put up.

I also purchased an Ebike and trailer. I think it’s go to be a game changer with trying to hunt different areas.

Im headed to my property in Texas for two things.. Going to build and elevated blind on the south side field for hunting with my kid and for when I bring folks who arent seasoned hunters to my land. Then I am testing out the thermal I just bought for next winter to kill some piggies.

I am also awaiting Colorado draw results.. Their website isnt super user friendly like Montana

Colorado is hitting the credit cards, actual results should be posted by tomorrow. How many PP's did you have? BTW, Montana screwed up their draw. Again. Notified folks of drawing tags that didn't really draw. Now they need to notify them. I think they screwed the draw up twice this year.

Yea I read about the Montana debacle. Thankfully I wasnt a part of that

I only had one PP in Colorado so I am fairly certain that I didnt get drawn, plus I applied for a couple areas that were just not possible for me to get but was hoping id be lucky. Honestly unless if I get my number 1 choice I am going to request a refund and bank the points for another season.

Ill actually be coming up to PA this year for rifle season. My wife's uncle has some land up there he has been wanting me to come hunt with him.. sadly hes one of the types that believes that archery is unethical so its got to be with a rifle

Cool! Where at in PA? Shame about your uncles view on archery. In the last 12 years I released 21 arrows and killed 20 deer. The one I lost, I'm pretty certain was a high shoulder non-fatal hit.

It was a nice cool day today, so I dragged this thing 500 yards to a new location. 1260F982-0219-45D9-AA70-91A4D4B10915.jpg

Yeah I moved it up to the corner of a bean field. It was in a really good travel corridor, but someone built a house close by. Was still a great spot but felt weird sitting there when people are in their yard 150 yards away.

Funny, I have a stand on my lease just like that. A natural pinch point with a high use trail, 150 yards away is a house. I’ve never hunted it. If I can hunt away from everyday noise, I do. I know the deer don’t mind it, but I do.

I bought a Lone Wolf climber mainly because I was bored and wanted to try something different; I've used the same API bowhunter for 25 years, I love it, but I wanted to try something new. After modifying the Lone Wolf to my liking, I've managed to make it a couple of pounds lighter than my API. I think I'm really gonna like it; and if I don't, I still have the API.

Looks like this turned I to more of a hunting thread. No hunting but a 3d shooter. Haven't been since covid started. I have a mathews outback and a creed. The creed looks better but I think I prefer the outback.

Got a new bow this year V3X33. Looking forward to chasing mulies in my back yard come September. Started bow hunting 6 years ago and got seriously hooked. Did a few 3D shoots and had a blast. A TAC event in BC would be cool, here's hoping.

I’ve had both of those bows in the past, nice bows, I preferred the creed. I’m using a Ravin crossbow now.

I think the older Mathews, MQ1, LX, Outback, Switchback were the best bows Mathews made.
