Avid hunter since 1980, last 3 years had to switch to a crossbow....numerous issues with my cervical spine...so drawing my Mathews is extremely hard and I struggle holding the draw

I converted to a crossbow 3 years ago due to arthritis in my hands and shoulders. I like hunting with my Ravin.

Got my Cadillac blind started. 12x8 and will be insulated and carpeted. Goal is for when folks come to hunt that don’t have much experience they can use it. Buddy of mine fundraises for free combat vet hunts on my land during season.

second and more archery related, I cut some bois’d’arc (for you non Texans, it’s pronounced Bow-dark) from my land and plan on starting to hand shape my own long bow. This is the wood that the ozark native Americans used for bows because when it dries, it’s rock hard, super strong, and will never rot. I’ve got corner posts on my fences that are over a hundred years old and still so hard you can’t hammer a fence staple into them

Yeah that’s what it looks like to me too. I think some also call it hedge apple. Extremely hard and tough.

Texans call it bois’d’arc but you’re right. It’s Osage Orange or horse apple

Extra wood, but hunt would be a bonus! You got feral hogs there?
