100-150 grain doesn’t make too much of a difference as long as placement is proper. 150 won’t save you on a less than ideal shot in my experience.

pigs have an amazingly durable shield of cartilage covering a decent amount of vitals. I’ve seen it stop a 308 at 150yds cause placement was too far forward.

260fps isn't overly fast in today's world. My (compound) shoots 285 and somewhere around the 32 yard range my arrows tend to take a nosedive. I'm (guessing) shots should be 35 yards or less. And as mentioned, placement is everything, even more so on hogs. They got them metal shoulders!!

Yea I’m not disagreeing with you, just didn’t want someone to rely on weight to compensate

a .22lr can kill a pig dead in its tracks, I’ve done it. Just make sure you’re sighted in!!

So that would kill at 50-60yds?
What broadhead would you recommend? 150-200grain? What yardage would it work at?

Im going with that because its what I found on Amazon. I am very open to recomendations. What do you recommend for hogs, but mainly javelinas and coyotes at 30-50yds.

To shoot consistantly at 50-60 yards you're gonna need speed, to get speed you're gonna lose weight...losing weight kinda sucks as far as hogs go I would think.
If I were to buy a deer/coyote bow for those ranges, I'd look for something in the 400fps range. I'm not sure about hogs tho, I've never hunted them. Deer and coyotes are relatively thin-skinned, a well placed shot from almost any bow should zip right through them at reasonable distances.
(Also, I know almost nothing about crossbows :anonymous:)

Opening day tomorrow. Used to be October 15 ,when rifle season was changed from 3rd Monday in November to the Saturday before , they gave us 2 extra weeks of bow . Can only use crossbow the last 2 weeks of archery season ,I no longer have a compound bow anyway since it was stolen from my truck right in my driveway  . My shoulders aren’t great and neither are my eyes unless I’m using a scope . In my opinion it’s too early anyway and deer season here in NY is much to long .

I’ll be up in Buffalo at the end of October for archery! Same in Texas. Opening day is tomorrow.. most of the time the first few weeks are spent sweating your ass off and getting torn up by skeeters in a stand lol
