You'll definitely be ready for the next hunting season, what kind of price range was that in?

:goingcrazy: 18 days till my bow hunt! I can't wait. My freezer is getting low on venison.

I bought back my old Matthews Classic bow from the person I sold it to three years ago. :woot: It shoots just like the day I sold it. I'm super excited about it because I wasn't liking my current Matthews MQ1.

Weird story....A couple weeks ago I was looking at arrows on Academy.com. I ended up buying at a local Cabelas. Then, last night I get home and have two packages from Academy on the porch. One of them is a half dozen Beman youth arrows, and the other is a half dozen Full Metal Jacket arrows. I checked my bank account this morning, and was never charged. I looked at the FMJ arrows on their website, but never placed an order. Funny how the interwebs work sometimes. The only downfall is that the FMJ arrows are 500 grain and I shoot 340. I can't take them back to the store because I have no confirmation email.

Buck 8.jpg This old boy came to see me Sunday morning. He ended up riding home with me. He was really old, we estimated at 8 or 9 years. Last year he was a huge 10 point, he regressed a little this year. He had his nose in a doe, so he died happy I suppose.

Cant believe if youre left eye dominant that this would ever had been a question as to which side you should be shooting.

    Report from today.

This morning I had 3 whitetail doe, 2 bucks and 1 axis doe approaching the tree stand I was in. They where slowly making their way up eating the corn along the path. They where about 40 yards away when a boar came out and ran them off. Then the boar got spooked right before entering my shooting window. Nothing came out the rest of the morning.

I went to a ground blind at 2pm this afternoon. Finally about 4:40pm I had an Axis buck and two axis doe making their way down the cornned path from about 80 yards out. It took them about 30 minutes to get within 20-30 yards of me. I finally had a perfect shot at the doe 30 yards away. As I began to draw my bow the axis buck lifts his head and stairs right at me, so I pause. The buck and I have a stairing contest for about 2 minutes till he finally lowers his head and goes back to eating. I draw my bow back and then spook the axis off.
    :annoyed:

The sun set at 5:40 and I crawl out of the blind around 5:55. As I'm waiting for the guide to pick me up I hear some pigs grunting around the corner. So I slowing walk down the path about 40 yards to the corner and there they are. About a dozen hogs only 20 yards away. I sneak out into the path draw my bow and shoot the closest hog broad side to me.
    :annoyed:

Hit the shoulder blade. Only 3 inches of blood on the tip of my arrow. The guide brought a dog out but couldn't get a lead. Probably didn't wound the hog very bad.

Had to replace the blades on my broadhead.

Oh yeah. At least I got one white tail doe from this trip. I am already setting up a group hunt in August for hunting Axis bucks. It's only $550 for two days.

This was taken the week before I went.

This thread is getting me excited to get back out there. I had rotator cuff surgery early this year. Last year I was hurt so it's been two seasons since I've been able to shoot my bow. Was a really epic day when I tried to pull my bow back a week ago and I actually did it!!!
