I have a bear longbow that is a 62# draw. It was made in the late 40's. It's a lot to draw consistently. A 45-50# will work really well for hunting and target. I like a 45# myself. A good option on a recurve would be a Bear Grizzly. They are a workhorse of a bow that has been around for decades.

Thought y'all mught enjoy these.I started making longbows a few years ago, and ended up making one or so here and there for the local archery shop.
These are a few of the bows I made. Notice they are lefties. Not many left handed shooters out there. Of course the Taco in the background for street cred.
    3 bows.jpg

This one, I made for a friends daughter. It is a mere 28# draw.

This is one I made for the bow shop to sell. It is 56# draw, and about as heavy as I care to shoot.

90? To hell with that. Was around 78 and cloudy. Next week is supposed to be warm, witch temps in the low 80’s. However the following week is supposed to be a big change with highs in the 50’s and lows in the low 40’s. I love bowhunting too, but when it’s over 80, I’ll pass.

I can handle low 80's if its windy enough to keep the skeeters away.
I can hunt Fri, Sat and Sun so I think I'll wait. And lots of vacation in the near future.:)

When I was in my 20's and 30's I'd sit out there in almost any weather, I'm 55...not anymore.

Yup. I'll do cold, some wind, maybe some rain, but over 80 deg, hard no. Here's our 10 day forecast. Looking to take of the 9th.
