Empty handed Texas trip this year. Hard hunting cause the weather and wind wouldn’t cooperate much.

did get a bobcat come to me at about 20 feet yesterday. Wish I could post a video here but I’m too technologically ignorant. Here’s a screenshot of the video

I’m still bow hunting. Got a nice buck with a gun but would like to get 1 or 2 doe’s for sausage and sticks.

It always seems extra special sitting in a tree around Christmas time. :santa:

Not anymore but when I was a young unmarried man I would be. I remember one time being up in a tree, and it was so cold it didn't take long for me to question my sanity. Three or four does did come walking in. Once they got close enough they would periodically jerk their head up and look at me which would cause me to freeze up, no pun intended. They'd go back to feeding and I would relax a little bit, then bam they'd be looking at me again. It didn't take me long to realize that when I relaxed and breathed normally they were seeing my breath. It was touch and go for a little while whether I was going to kill one of those deer, or pass out and fall out of my tree stand trying to hold my breath.

It’s tough being in a tree late in the year. Between the cold wind and no cover it’s hard to kill a deer. I’m thinking a blind is probably a better choice these days.
