This is a pretty rad group of hunters who have been instrumental in helping me further my skills. It’s also a place to show off what you’re doing and what you’ve taken.

there’s one rule I live my life by that I believe is helpful in this context. I don’t give unsolicited advice, for any reason. If I feel the need to, I ask if it’s wanted prior to giving it.

Its not the first time you've stirred the pot in this thread (or others). You're 63 years old, act like it. You can have conversation without fucking saying fuck every other fucking word. Fuck. You're just starting shit at this point, and probably surprisingly to you, not a single person took your side. Save your "needs another year" for your golf course buddies.
I hope you smoke this deer buddy. I hope you throw him in the back of your truck, parade him around town, post it here, and designate a spot on your wall for him. He's a hell of a deer. "Fucker" would be a great name for him

Right now I'd shoot a 47 pound doe and not give 2 shits about it.

Thats just how tall he'll feel if he has to resort to shooting coyotes while he's deer hunting :boink:

I'd rather shoot a coyote than a doe, no dragging. :anonymous:

My first bow kill was a tripod fawn (doe that still had spots) on the second Saturday of Pa's season. Found out later someone shot the entire front left leg off at the body line the previous Saturday. Got too excited and tagged it - turns out it had gangrene throughout and I got no meat and a 'used up' deer tag. Wish I had a picture here instead of at camp.....I held it up with one hand, fully extended arm towards the sky - like holding up a dead rabbit!!!!

Well….crap. Had a big doe lined up at 60 yards with the flintlock. 10 minutes after sunset, iron sights, big flash… ya I’m making excuses.

Yes I do use that word a lot. Have spent my life working around other men so got into a bad habit. It is funny how, when like visiting my daughter and her young children I was able to filter it out. That said you can use it in a complete sentence. "Fuck the fucking fuckers". And let me offer my apologizes, I didn't know that suggesting someone pass a buck to allow him to mature was one of the seven deadly sins. I'll try to do better by the standards you and the other owners of this thread have imposed on it.

Its not about thread standards anyone set or didn't set. Its about being an asshole. If you knew the poster and wanted to give some friendly banter, by all means, go for it. But that's not your intent. Its safe to say this thread is a tight knit group, whether some of us have met in real life or not; this an online deer camp. We gather here to shoot the shit, celebrate each others' wins, and have some talk as if we were around a campfire. You're more than welcome to say whatever you want, and we're not gonna stop you. Many of us have had meaningful conversation with you, here, and in other threads. Many of us have also seen you stir the pot, here, and in other threads. Hell, we all do it sometimes, and sometimes we get called out for it. A lot of us have the others' backs when someone goes and shames how they hunt, what they hunt, etc, so long as they do it legally. He responded to you pretty nicely. Remember who bought and owns the tag, the property, the gear, and the sometimes limited time we get to do this sport we all love. Be a little nicer.

First off you have zero clue as to what a mature buck is in the area I hunt. Zero. A typical buck in this area will be a 14-18” inside 8 pt. Are their bigger buck? Sure. On managed leases, food plot, very limited pressure…Not the places I choose to hunt. If you want the reasons, ask.

Nobody owns this thread. I just see this “shoulda let it go another year….” Bravo Sierra, and I call it out. It was poking the bear with the full intent of stirring the pot. Evidenced by you continuing to dig a deeper hole. As stated “Ain’t your tag.”

The only person we can tell to “give it another year.” Is @buckhuntin-tacoma. And that’s cuz he has a proclivity for posting and shooting small buck.:rofl:

So I'm an asshole for saying give it another year. All I've ever done here is give an opinion. Show me one post here where I have attacked someone where they didn't agree with me. Made an argument yes. But I've never called someone an asshole.
