Yes, they sell a tool that you squeeze in between the two different colored strands and then turn sideways to spread them apart to put your people back in, but you will still have to serve it in.You should never need a bow press to serve in a Peepsight

Thanks for the response! I’ll have to get one of those tools just in case this continues happening. Do you know where I can get one?

Gotcha I’ll check it out. I just got the bow back from the shop a few days ago and I’ve been having problems with the peep staying aligned correctly, so I wasnt very surprised when it came out. Hopefully I can find a shop close by that can take care of it for now but I’m gonna snag one of those tools as a backup for sure

I've been trying to avoid this thread now for over a year. I've been bowhunting for the last 30 years and have worked at a couple of pro shops. I worked at the largest pro shop on the east coast, by sales numbers, from '09 until last March when I went in for the first shoulder surgery and have now been home for 6 months after the second on the same shoulder. Bow season started 2 Saturday's ago and it kinda hit home I haven't been able to shoot for over a year now. It's a hard pill to swallow after being committed to shooting almost daily and I can't even bring myself to walk into my bow shop in the basement where all my bows are. I wish all of you the best of luck this season, shoot straight and bag a big one

Find a few archery pro shops in your area and visit them. Itnerview them basically, see what kinda feel you get for them, see how attentive they are to you and how willing they are to put a bow in your hand and get you to shoot. Let them know your shopping for a local pro shop and just see how concerned they are with putting the right bow in your hands to suit your needs or do they simply want to sell you the most exspensive set up they have whether it's rt for you or not. When you find a shop you'd like to do buisness with see just how many bows they'll put in your hand and let you shoot so you can see which feels best for you

Why did your bow shop not serve your Peepsight in? That is the question you need to take back directly to them

I had a shoulder replacement also and I have now converted to be a left-hand shooter going into season number two. Has that option ever crossed your mind ?

both shoulders have almost no labrum in them. I'm very strong rt eye dominate so not really plus There's no way I can even consider pulling the string back with my left hand. I haven't worked at the shop now in over a year it's hard to work on them when you can't pick them up, besides my regular job threatened to cut off my bennifits if they cought me at the shop working or shooting until a doctor tells me I can. I considered a crossbow, and no offense to anybody who shoots one, but it's just not the same. Saddest part was I'd just set up a new hunting bow before Surgery with hopes it'd heal

I definitely agree with you on the cross bow thing, i’ve said that for years. How come you can’t pull it back with your left arm?

sorry to hear that, Ive been milking my shoulder for a few years now. I was going to say maybe a crossbow but I see you dont care for them much.

Are you allowed crossbow? Like its been said go to a few bow shops and see what best suits you. You dont need a $1200 bow to shoot deer. You can find some amazing deals on craigslist for a bargain just make sure stuff doesnt look cracked or abused. 50-60lb bow is plenty to kill a deer. Just start asking questions or read through this thread.

I shoot a 60lb Mathews eliminator II with a ripcord drop away rest. Its a sweet shooting bow.

It is my left shoulder that's been operated on. I still can't pick up much more than a couple of pounds now 6 months later. So, no strength to draw or hold the bow. I'm waiting now for another MRI due to daily pain

If you just got a standard peep you can see a groove around the outside of it. The groove is for a safety string they should have at least tied that on. With a new bow or a restring this is all we typically would tie on until the shooter completed at least 200 shots so if the string settled or adjustments needed to be made we didn't have to cut the serving off that tied in the peep. Laying a razor blade rt next to a new string isn't enjoyable. After the adjustments were made , if necessary, we fully serve the peep in it was all included in the price of the peep
