thats good practice, guess the yardage then use the range finder. You will get better at judging distance for when you hunt.

It was actually a good exercise...not a whole lot of walking but it was enough. Plus it was neat to actually shoot at something similar in size to an animal. They had deer, bear, antelope and an elk 3d targets so that was neat also. I did hit the 50yd antelope so I was actually quite impressed with myself ;)

Where are you shooting around here? Most courses around here are all unknown distance. Classes are usually men's and women's recurve, Men's and women's bow hunter, and men's and women's bowhunter open, of course there are youth classes as well. If you'd like to discuss all the courses around here let me know. I've shot all of them except Ft belvoir and cub run

As much as I would love to and I think it would help my outlook on life right now, I can't handle it right now. I can only shoot a little bit and at close range as my shouder still isn't strong enough and hurts all the time. Hopefully here in a little bit it'll strengthen and I can do some of this.

Not trying to be a smart ass, but, never having seen you shoot it’s a little difficult to give you advice. My only tip would be go and have fun and don’t worry about the score

So I shot in the known hunter class this morning because I was all over the place when practicing with IBO scoring yesterday. The goal is just to go out there and aim for the vitals and have fun. I knew all the distances, and ended up hitting vitals on all the targets! Lots of fun and I'm looking forward to getting out there again soon, and maybe even competing for real when I can get my shot back together!
