Wow. I just measured 9” top of axle tube inboard to bottom of frame. Geeez barely got 1” of lift with the allpro standard leaf springs.

@ARCHIVE 2010 Tacoma 4door. Currently have the OME HD pack (OME shocks as well). Super soft-too soft ride and bottoms out quickly just shy of 2 years. Have the superbumps and flip kit installed. Stock hangers.
    Tube-to-frame measurement of 10" even.
Calculated at 562 pounds of extra bed weight when daily and 100-150 extra when camping. Minimum weight of 250-300 when in "winter mode" (up here in Maine).
I'm interested in your HD spring pack and curious if I may retain the current ride height ( a tad higher is fine) yet gain better ride quality without the hanger kit.
    Thanks!
PS: There's not a local scale or even close to near me..

@ARCHIVE I just bought the MD leaf springs. Can’t wait to get them installed. Do you think I will need 3 degree shims?

If the Dakar "HD" are feeling super soft, you might have more weight than you're calculating, which is very common especially with DCSB.

I think our HDs would be good, even down at 300lbs ride should be pretty good. I was very impressed with a customer truck with HDs at about 300lbs, but it had Hammer Hangers which help ride a lot.
HDs at 300lbs were about 3" lift (11.25"). 300lbs is significantly below HD 600-1,250 lbs intended range, but it won't be harsh.

Remember, rear lift is how you increase bump travel

I hope you won't need any shim.

Hi Eric, currently running the squeakiest Dakars with Kings, Timbren flip kit, reinforced Snugtop, and am happy with how the truck sits. I have a 350lb Topo Topper on order and plan on loading it up with a light duty interior buildout + camping gear.

Ready to swap out these Dakars (and add Hammer Hangers) but am not sure what to go with: HD or XD. I know it's difficult to tell without weighing but could XD be overkill in this case? I also have not relocated my rear shocks. Thanks!

    Hey,

You need to account for all the weight you add such as sliders, rear bumper, gear.
I recommend weighing the truck once Topo is on, take the guesswork out. Stock DC weighs around 1,900 lbs on rear axle.

XDs sound overkill for your intial description. Need more info, but please weigh the truck

Just weighed my 15 long bed access cab. Drive axle is 3480! I under estimated by 300-400lbs. I'm gonna have to save up for those leafs.
    Thanks Eric.

Very easy to underestimate the load on these, hence the recommendation to scale it, so good job getting that done.

Sounds like our XD would be the best choice XD are intended for 1,250 to 1,750 lbs on a DC (which correlates to ~1,450 to 1,950 on a lighter AC).
However our HD would be ok if you want less lift and a bit soft.

Are their leaf packs side specific?

We've gotten good reports on ride for MAX Duty for folks within the range 1,750-2,500lbs added (~3,700-4,500lbs rear axle weight)

Hey folks, I want to share this quote from a recent customer who installed Hammer Hangers on his otherwise stock 2022 Pro.
I've heard from several owners of vibration on stock new Tacomas.

"I had a 22 OR before I got the Pro. The OR had exactly the same vibration (that ebbs and flows at speed over 70mph). Both trucks did it on the OE tires and replacements. Have tried rebalancing (road force - tires have never been out of balance), rotating, etc. The vibration has always been the same until now (with hangers and added weight). I have always wondered about a driveline issue".
