Good luck. Hope you winterized to -60F protection.

Don't shut the truck off in less than -20 degree temperatures unless you're plugged in (block heater, battery tender, etc.); it may not restart if left off for any significant time.

The truck will burn so little fuel idling I would recommend keeping it running the entire time you are in remote areas.

If the opportunity presents itself, get yourself a backpacking air mattress. A ton more comfortable. Thanks for checking in!

Good deal! You're very fortunate that you didn't get in an accident. There was also a mud slide that shut down a portion of I-5 just before the WA/OR border as well.
Keep an eye on the DOT websites for whatever state you're traveling in. For the most part, they're pretty spot on with regards to conditions... The DriveBC system is awesome.

    this trip looks fantastic.

i know very little about extreme cold stuff and cars. can the generator be used to run a block/battery heater instead of just idling the truck? any danger to sleeping in a truck that is idling?

oh, nothing starts an emergency fire like a road flare..jus saying. wet wood, damp wood..pfft..road flare.

Today's update: Today has been a challenge. I only did 400Miles...snow and two close calls. I fishtailed in one and other I did 180. Why the hell do they not salt sooner here??? Canadian Hwys are two way streets with signal, small towns and everything in between. The wash from ice covered Semi was blinding. My LED light bar was covered with gunk from wash-up. I used gatorade to clean LED and headlights to conserve water.
All photos taken at Hope, BC and on the way to CacheCreek, BC

This does not make any sense

    What are they charging?
This is the Downtown in the morning( me and three other cars!!!!!).

Just curious; but what are you running for tires and what's your average speed? You shouldn't be having that much issue with traction...

BF Goodrich A/T but road where I fishtailed and 180ed was not salted and no traffic until I got there. This is just 4-5 miles north of CashCreek.

If you think the road conditions in these southern parts of BC are bad, I pity you when you get to Pine Pass and north - that's a whole different world.

I will do Pine pass tomorrow. Since it snowed here today, I did not want to go there when everything is fresh.

Don't expect salt or sand - if it's there, consider it a bonus.
