Not trying to be rude but I never understood why people think carburetor vehicles were so reliable. Something about driving around with a fishbowl of raw fuel on top of a hot motor just never sat well with me. 21st century vehicles are light-years ahead in terms of safety and reliability

Alot of oldschool people like them because they are simple and generally can easily be fixed with basic tools, no scan tools or special equipment needed.

I have nothing against them, they run pretty good when they are working right.
The problem with older vehicles is our trash fuel, it detroys anything that wasn't specifically designed for it (& degrades alot of stuff that is) and doesn't last more than a month in anything with a vented fuel tank, in a sealed tank it lasts a bit longer but it still degrades very quickly and once it does it can trash your fuel system if you try to run it.

Fishbowl of raw fuel? I would be more worried about the small bomb in the fuel tank (sarcasm). In other words there is zero concern with either.

The carburetor venturi turned into a fishbowl?

I recently sold my 2010 (pictured <-) not because it had issues it was because I couldn't turn down a very good deal on newer Gen2. I'm far from a mechanic but the issues it had were not significant enough to call one. If it'a good enough deal for a cleaner truck I say go for it.

    I mean
DI injectors are typically pricier and harder to get to
that require an HPFP that wears out

    same thing with diesel

gas PI is cheaper easier and simpler (what 2nd gen uses) working automatically through ECU without adjustments needed

I found the VIN of the truck I have a hold on. It's 3TMJU4GN2AM107082

I was also correct the first time I posted about the price of it. The price is 21,000. Mileage is 77K.

If anyone can guide me I would be grateful.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
It’s not worth .21 cents if the frame isn’t solid.

Also a 2010 owner here. Had it for over a decade now, just passed 100k miles, and the only issues have been from the modifications I've done to it :D The leaf spring recall didn't even matter since I had already replaced it with an aftermarket leaf pack for the lift, win win.

Just hit 190K on mine. Very few problems and none significant. Most issues were a blower fan motor that cost 125 bucks and 10 minutes to replace. All the trade rags will mention electrical issues and the blower fan was the culprit. They have a redesigned one that is quiet now.

Some 2014's and 15's are still covered under the frame warranty provided they had the mandatory/required inspection and CRC application performed prior to the deadline. My truck is covered for 12 years from date of first service, so after early 2026, that's it. Upon request, a dealer will also perform an annual inspection of the frame. I have had it inspected in the fall each year since 2021, (NTF) and treat it every fall with Fluid-Film before winter sets in.

I had mine inspected and treated in 2021, about 6 months prior to the deadline. It is covered for 12 years from the date of first service. (2026) I was also advised when it was performed that upon request, the dealer would also perform a no cost annual inspection of the frame. I have them inspect it every fall with Fluid-Film before winter sets in.

2011 - 2017 got the extension. If you got the treatment and inspection you got the extension. 2005-2010 got the initial recall and inspection/undercoating but no large extension. Hence 2010 not an ideal year.

Thank you for that clarification. Key piece of information when shopping for one.

When I was searching for my truck, I didn't realize they had left out and abandoned the earlier years to fend for themselves. Good to know. :proposetoast:
