In a boxed frame salt and water sits in there and quickly eats through the paint then the frame. Most all of the frames on the 1st and 2nd Gens rusted from the inside out, at least the ones that I’ve seen.

Don’t go trying to get your cousin Joey off the hook for being lazy with the paint sprayer.

It’s like fat people saying they are big-boned. Could also be the Taquitos.

    None as of yet
i had this thought too but also remembered that people already complain about the truck costing 35k as is. now add a frame that costs more than double in just material let alone specialized tooling required to manufacture it and thats out of the window. not to mention galvanic corrosion from mixed metals can also be a bigger issue. I work with stainless and have seen some pretty bad cases.
some of the most common grades of stainless are not brittle and cant even be hardened enough to become brittle. some 400 series can be hardened and that is what is used in appropriate applications such as knives but structural often uses a 300 series steel which is just a pain to work with.

    Like, so many.
I saw a voodoo blue at my dealer and it does pop, but I don't know if it's a color I would want to live with. If I was going blue, it would be cav blue.

Which is why proper coatings are needed. I thought most frames these days were dipped in a galvanizing tank? Maybe Toyota is cheaping out by painting them only?

Like jeezus.....they are dipping whole Volkswagens in India for chrissakes (literally):
