Is there a joke to be made here?! Trannies blowing?

Besides, I thought it was Ridgeline drivers who blow.

Edit: oops…got beat (off?) by a couple other sickos…

This guy was trolling on a different thread about 3rd gens.

People like this give us 1st gen owners a bad rep.

Okay seriously, these threads are lame. I saw like five of them yesterday and if it continues it's going to drag down the entire experience on this forum. The one that blew up week before last was funny but the people trying for who knows why to catch their share of internet abuse is weird and the mods should start cleaning these up. Or banish them to the Dumbgeon idk

I take a lot of this stuff with a grain of salt. There are so many factors that influence these issues.
    How the vehicle is maintained
    Driven
Was the oil changed at some point and the person doing the oil change forgot to put oil in and then remembered after the engine was started.
Was the oil filled to the correct level / and then later found out it wasn’t
Was the engine tuned by someone that doesn’t know what they are doing .
Was the engined tuned and the rev limiter was raised and then repeatedly over redline
People lie all the time. Could some of these issues be true yes / all of them …. I highly doubt it
With all that said there are a lot of parts in an engine so stuff does happen . The best you could do is not
Beat the hell at of your truck and maintain it. If you do that it’s a high likely hood it will run for a very long time

Amen brother when in doubt floor it out I'll put my two cents . Bought my 17 brand new TRD off-road with tech package MSRP was $37k I walked off the lot $35k with my truck. First 10k mi I babied, it used 87octane , and I've only had one 10k mi oil change interval. After that I switched to 92 octane and changed my oil every 5k . I was never afraid to floor it if needed to be . My Tacoma has been on multiple long trips . I live in Washington state. We been to grand canyon , California redwoods, Moab Utah, Bryce canyon Utah, glacier national park Montana, Zion national park , Crater lake Oregon, and to add to all of this I daily drive my truck 140+ miles a day for work . So I use the crap out of my Tacoma . My od yesteray was at 169,971 miles. I continue to change my oil every 5k mi and I add Chevron fuel system cleaner every 3k mi. I do most maintenance myself, things I can't do have my local dear do.

So when I see all these 3.5 l that are failing, I'm thinking what are the owners doing wrong . I've had my Tacoma at crazy angles in Moab and never seen this crazy smoke . I do have a oil catch can which I service every 3k mi. About 5k mi ago I replaced both front hub assemblies and upper and lower balls joints . Ball joints didn't need replaced but had it all apart figured ehhh preventative maintenance. I'm all about replacing parts before they fail , why wait .

I don't know guys , I'm just gonna keep doing me and enjoy my Tacoma that has been reliable since day one .

    Enough for now
let’s be real, the only TW member to actually blow his up is @MESO and that was dual turbo madness…..all the other testimonies of blown engines are kindergarten bs in comparison. We will also bow down to the hellcat Tacoma when it’s revealed WE ARE NOT WORTHY!!!
