It has never occurred to me until I came out of the local ACE today to the parking lot. Parked right next to me was another very nice 2nd gen and I was surprised to see how much higher my truck was sitting as compared to theirs. The truck looked to be a regular 4x2 in standard trim. Not sure if it had 15" rims vs my 16", but my truck seemed to be much higher than just the 1" difference in tires and wheels would make. Any ideas/input on what would be attributed to the difference in height? The truck was much lower to the ground than mine.

How the hell do we know? We haven’t seen your truck or the other truck and nothing you’ve told us gives us any clues.

If you want to know if your truck is lifted, get out your trusty tape measure, measure the vertical distance from the center of your hub to the edge of your fender flare, and report back.

Also send pics of your suspension while you are at it.

BTW: wheel/rim diameter has zero effect on truck height unless you have burned your tires completely off.

OP's talking about 2nd-gens (so why is this in 3rd-gen??), OP's is probably stock and someone in a 5-lug parked next to him.

The truck you talked about that is parked next to your truck is 4cycl with 15" wheels (5 lug). Like mine had before I traded it in for my '17.

2nd gen V6 engine models sit higher than 4cycl ones...

Some people modify 4cycl trucks to sit higher than the stock height. For example, they swap wheels and bigger tires... And depending on the tire size, they add the lift so the tires can fit in.

    No is right!

but comparing a 4x4 6lug or a RWD 6lug to a RWD 5lug the truck would be lifted in some capacity from the factory. SR5 4x4s aren't lifted from the factory.

4x4s sit higher than 2x4s. Do the math...
