I just picked up my front 5100's to go with my Eibach coils. I was able to move the circlip to the .85 position useing just my fingers. Is this normal? It sure looks like a big pot hole would force the circlip out of the grove or the spring seat past the circlip. There is not much circlip surface area for the spring seat to sit on. Does the spring seat capture the circlip and stop it from expanding and popping out of the grove? I may be paranoid but the thought of the front suspension collapsing on the highway doesn't appeal to me.

If you installed the spring perch correctly (so it looks like a bell), the perch surrounds the c-clip and won't let it expand to move....

Thanks for the info guys. I'm gonna pay the dealer 2 hrs labor to do it but I just wanted to make sure everything was right before I got there. I test fitted the spring on the spring seat and it looks like all the pics I've seen on tw but I just wanted to make sure. Thanks again.
