Yeah, way more room now that he's moved to a booster seat. He was fine back there in the car seat for a year, never complained. If the truck is still rollin' in 5 years I guess the wife (or me) will be sitting in the back and the kid up front. Way more room than the claustrophobic Datsun B210 that I used to have to sit in the back seat of as a child. I never liked being back there, felt like I was a tail gunner or a belly turret operator; no view and dangerous.

For us, it seems my vehicle is NEVER the one taken when we are all in a vehicle together. But when my family comes to visit we’ll often take both cars to go to eat or whatever.

My last Toyota was an 89 regular cab. That thing was cramped in the front. Lol.

Seriously considered another RC F250, just a shame it doesn’t have the room behind the seat like the Tundra RC. The Ram is a little better, but not by much. Love my AC Taco for tossing stuff back there, a couple guys bitching about the suicide doors in parking lots, dunno I rarely use a cart…that and tend to park away from other vehicles.

Plus like to recline the seat for my lunch naps. :D

Ford standard cabs are on the smaller side, Ram had more room and lots more Room behind the seat. 2g Tundra looks like it had the most room behind the seat, I'd like to have one of those, I guess 15/16 was the last year for them.

What I like about the current 250 is the mechanical parking brake, I expect the new gen to be electronic. The column shifter which isn't motorized, looks like SD will have the aoutomated lever from 150, and I like the Rotary knobs on the HVAC, even though the air distribution settings are buttons.

Manual hubs, which look like they will carry over to the new gen.

Any pics of your moto trailer setup? I took my topper off to haul my dirtbike last summer, but got tired of hauling my dogs in the cab of the truck, I much prefer them in the topper. Been thinking about getting a trailer

It is just an utility 5X8 with chocks. Going to a 5X10 enclosed once I sell off a third vehicle we have and the Wildernest on my old truck. Since no pop up camper on the new truck, use a cot back there as a temporary solution until I can free up some room at the house for the cargo trailer. When we bought the new house, kinda got screwed on exterior storage space.

Nice, thank you - I have a old 4x6 utility already kind of like yours but it's a bit too short for the bike without modding it somewhat... I was trying decide between a 5x8 or 5x10 enclosed cargo trailer, I think 5x10 is the ticket. I'm sure a 5x8 enclosed could work if it had a side door but might be tighter than I'd like.

You’re welcome, buddy has a 5X8 enclosed, things get a little tight with 2-3 bikes and all the gear. 10 footer seems just about right, like the 5 wide over the 6 since it isn’t wider the trucks track. Less worry about tagging objects with the trailer wheels, if the truck fits the trailer will follow. Lower height too over the 6X10, should be slightly less air drag. The carport where I am going to store is a bit low, so kinda limited on how tall I can go anyways.

Was going to get a wedge camper for the new truck, however the one thing I learned about having a Widernest for 15 years, don’t like having a camper attached to the truck, seems every time I get it all set up, we need to run somewhere. Trailer you just drop it.

This why my next Taco has to be an AC.. I think a DCLB might work if that's the only long bed version when the 4th gen comes out. But the shorter wheelbase of an AC is much better for FS and BLM backroads..

Access Cabs all the way! Tons of room up front for me and my lady, and my 65lbs dog enjoys the mini mod we made him way more than when we had a crew cab. I also feel like he’s a bit safer in the compact space. The 6ft bed is and always will be a must for me and it’s damn near impossible to find a crew with a sixer around here.

Unfortunately they stopped making the AC in the offroad trim with a manual. So I have a DC......and I have talked a lot of shit about DC. It's literally impossible to make a DC look as good as a AC.
That said the real Tacoma Unicorn "AC,Offroad, Manual." They exist but you'll never see ine.

Yep. If I could order exactly what I want it would have been access cab, 6 foot bed, off-road and MT but for whatever reason Toyota doesn't think it's worth selling in the US. I'd have nowhere to put my sunglasses with the AT off-road which is a deal-breaker.

Interesting. Running low on AC bodies, or manual transmissions?
