Are access cab Tacomas not that popular?

I think I've seen 5 TRD access cabs on dealer lots in the last 6 years. A lime green trd or 4x4 access cab was on a dealer lot a couple of months ago. I hate the color, but it definitely grabbed your attention. I've seen dozens of super white sr and sr5 access cabs. It's usually a pest control company or pool company driving them around.

FYI, Toyota changed their white paint from super white to ice cap for 2023. I'm sure they re-worked the formula. Maybe it'll stick this time?

First thing I’d do is black out the hood; kind of like this8CDC021B-9E0D-42AE-AE00-65B24B9721D5.jpg because you’re right all that green is a little much

Gotta have patience. I waited 5 months for dealer to get one of those and that was without specifying a color preference. I might still be waiting if I asked for a specific color. Carvana is another option, they usually have a few AC and about once a month a MT AC shows up.

    Amen to that.

plus most people dont know this, but the double cabs have the smallest front door/door openings so anyone over 5’ 10” has to get in around the B pillar and actually sit beside or behind it, which I dont care for personally. But at least they do have a real B pillar. The double cabs definitely are a stronger cab over all, without question

I think access cabs look so much better. I get if you have a family they aren’t great. I pulled my back seats a couple weeks after I got it. Over the five or so years I’ve had mine I think I wish I would have had rear seats probably less than five times.

What does chatgpt have to say?

Access cab Tacomas are a popular choice among Toyota Tacoma truck owners, however, it is also true that some prefer the Double Cab variant over the Access Cab, as it provides more space for passengers and cargo. The popularity of a specific variant of a vehicle can depend on a variety of factors, including personal preferences, regional preferences, and availability.

It is worth noting that the popularity of a specific variant of a vehicle can also change over time, as the market shifts, new models are introduced, and consumer preferences evolve. Nevertheless, the Toyota Tacoma as a whole remains a popular and well-regarded vehicle, and the Access Cab variant is a sought after option for many truck enthusiasts.

Still have my 07 double cab an in last 15 years can count on one hand how many times I had passengers in the back. Probably says more about my personality than the truck.

This time went for an AC, me, my wife and our dog. Only thing I miss from the DC was the behind seat storage which was great for storing an air compressor and other things that won’t fit in the under seat cubbies. The dog misses the bench seat but I’ll fix that with some plywood and carpet.

I built a dog platform in mine. Held a 90# and a 50# along with a little gear without issue. Well, they have been a little squished but they didn’t mind.

I relish the fact that my AC is best suited for just me and if someone else gets lucky they can ride shotgun.
I like the 6 foot bed too.

For me it's perfect, and I look good in it too which is all that matters, and my son (plotting my early demise) will have
a fine ride when the time comes. I should have a clean title on my 2021 in hand by years end.

i've owned regular cabs, double cabs, and access cabs. regardless of which one i had at the time, very seldom did i wish i had another cab configuration.

on this go 'round the priority was an MT and i need a six-foot bed. that leaves one choice.

as someone mentioned above, they are the best proportioned truck and i hope they continue to offer them.

To me it does not matter if Access Cabs are popular or not. I believe you should get the Tacoma that fits your needs, wants and is available from Toyota.
