Love my Access cab. I have no need for any person to be in the back other than short intervals, but I gain the extra secure storage space while keeping the 6' bed.

I understand the door/grocery cart story though.

It's why the wife does the grocery shopping in the RAV. :p

Love my AC but next Taco might be a DC only because I would like a sun roof.

Most people think a van with a little cargo bed looks cool I guess. Then they get the auto so their wife can drive it.

    hahah I know.

There is an 83 pickup that keeps floating around on my local Craigslist with the 8’ bed. I have no time or place for this project but want it sooooooo bad.

I specifically wanted a manual Transmission & a 6-foot bed. My two little pups ride in the headrest-to-headrest dog hammock. Hammock works great for groceries too. Just my wife & I so it works perfect for us.

Really enjoy driving and owning my 2022 SR5 AC. Bought it in June 2022 (Washington State) and have only put 9,000 miles on it. Previously had a silver 2006 Dbl cab with long bed. The '06 was a GREAT bombproof truck! I drove it into the ground and heaped abuse on it. It. Just. Would. Not. Quit. Dealer gave me almost $6,000 for the trade in. My jaw dropped. I figured $3.00 and 12 cents.

Meanwhile, I don't need the double cab any longer. Retired, adult children... the access cab is suitable for my needs. In future, when I put new boots on this 2022 Tacoma (most likely Goodyear Ultraterrains) I'll be headed over the various mountain passes with confidence every weekend. Especially from November to March.

One regret; should have done my research, BLACK color looks fantastic... for about 15 minutes. After 15 minutes a fine patina of particulate and detritus settles on the hood and roof and the wife begins wondering why I'm constantly wiping it down with a microfiber cloth and detailing fluid! Glad I'm retired!

Sweet looking trucks everyone! I'm so jealous!! Mine is due to arrive in April, a 2023 black TRD OR 6MT, Canadian Access cab. Access cabs are the bomb, I currently have a crew cab chevy 2500hd and have had people in the back maybe 3 times in 7 years! Too big, too hard on gas, looking forward to the Tacoma!

That looks very much like mine, including the wind deflectors. Very hard to keep black looking nice here in New England.

It's one major reason I chose quicksand this time living here in New England. I could have bought black at the time for a couple grand less as dealers in my area had 2 of them on their lots to choose from, instead found I had to order my truck. Quicksand never seems to look dirty, especially when ceramic coated.

Quicksand was not even an option for a 2023 TRD Sport AC 6MT 4x4, and the vehicles were few and far between in any color. An MGM would have been nice. Ugly color but rides well in the northeast.

I know, but anything but black will show up less dirt especially when on these salted roads. My neighbor has a black truck, and has been a slave to it so much that he hardly uses it during the winter.

Thank you! These other geniuses who think that there is ten feet between cars in a lot don't get it. It usually can be done it's just a total PIA! But I don't have to deal with that anymore.

"Anything" in my case, with the options I wanted, would have been many more months and thus possibly not at all, given the economy. It's a truck, not a McLaren. It can get dirty and will be washed when time allows.

Door dings are a lot more permanent than dirt, so I'll focus on what I can usually control, like keeping the truck away from other vehicles in parking lots--since the vast majority of vehicle owners are people who could not care less about their own and other people's property.

I've got a Midnight Black DCSB Sport and try not to let the dirt get to me. As soon as the weather turns nice for a wash, I'm getting out the bucket & car wash mitt. (This time I bought microfiber wash sponge)

My thoughts exactly on parking away from people who don't care about their car's or any one else's.

I washed the car I traded in while it was 40F out. Not much choice in the matter. The truck probably will get a few of those since we are months from the warm weather.

I was thinking of doing the same, but hadn’t purchased the bed extender yet, still waiting for a warm day to install the tonneau cover. Is the extender simple to remove? I’ve already used my truck several times to haul stuff and it solidified by AC cab decision. I get more use out of an extra foot of bed space vs extra foot of cab space and can’t fit a DCLB in my garage. As long as a cover and extender are easily removed it’s the perfect setup for me (kids are gone and wife had a spacious minivan).

Very easy to remove the OEM bed extender, tilt it up and it slides right out of slots in the brackets, 5-10 seconds. I had the dealer install mine free as part of the deal when I bought the truck.
Probably the handiest accessory I have.
