I could be wrong but I see just as much access cabs and regular cabs. The ones I dont see all that often are the double(or crew cab)s

Like what do you want to do? want to replace the whole cab? 0_0 or just remove the rear seats? if it is just the rear seats to a little storage box it is simple

My 1st Tacoma a 2000 TRD was an AC, yoda bought her back when frame broke Dec of '12 so bought a '06 SR5 AC, don't need a DC to haul myself & my woman around. Kids are grown. Besides, I like the 6 speed manual. Can't remember if a DC is offered with one.

You could fit a BIG ASS speaker box back there.

    Jus' Sayin'

The would be the only reason I would divert from my standard cab lineage.

I have been turned off by crew cab / access cab/ quad cab Toyota trucks going back to the horrible aesthetic of the low rear side window of the early early trucks.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
After owning a access cab for 3 years, I can see why. They are just for looks, putting a person back there is like cramming them into a sardine can, it sucks. For this reason, I am selling my AC and getting a DCSB. Besides, I want the V6! :D

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
Hey, watch it! That was my 1st Toyota truck. A 1988 Extra cab. I loved that truck and honestly it was the best extended cab idea ever, a big improvement on the standard cab with plenty of utility room for gear.

Honestly, they shouldn't even put rear seats in an access cab. It's just impractical. If not INSANE! Better to make it what it is, a little extra room for your gear.

I love small pickups and the 22RE. If they still made it I'd still buy it and proudly buy it.

There are those who never plan to put anyone in the back. Therefore, it doesn't suck.

I like the looks of the AC, I like the 6 ft bed (DCSB FTMFL), but the back seats are a complete waste for adults. If I was completely solo in life or just had me and a dog, or me and a woman and we didn't want kids, I'm still not sure I'd pick an AC over an RC.

Great looking trucks, but it's almost like there's too much space in the back to not utilize it, and at the same time, not really enough to either.

You can fit one full size person in the back on an access cab sitting crossways in a pinch or 2 kids out of car seats and not full grown. Nothing wrong with access cabs at all. I would also rather haul a dog in an access cab with a platform than having it riding in the DC seats. Just depends on what YOU use the truck for. Pick one, who cares.

I feel I am the odd man here. I have a regular cab and would not have bought any other. I like the nimble handling and ease of getting around. I am sorry to see the regular cab dropped from the line up.

I see a metric shit-ton more double cabs than access or standard cabs here.

    Non-scientific, but easily a 4:1 ratio.

I personally would rather have a standard cab for exterior size, but need a little more space for gear and such. I actually think the existing access cab may be just a little too big; I'd be okay with shaving a few inches off the extended cab area to keep the truck a little shorter; and I have no use for the jump seats so the 2015 stripped down option looks pretty sweet to me.
