I almost feel bad for this kid.. I understand that he wanted to modify his truck. Can't blame him for that, we all modify our trucks

But grinding away at your upper control arm? That doesn't take any knowledge of modifying cars...that just takes common sense

OP you have ground down a crucial part of your suspension

when it fails and believe it will fail!!! 4x4 or not(as the 4x4 is just going to destroy your transfer case) you will cause more than a 1000 in damage, more than 3000 in damage, i forsee, you not being able to stop, as your UCA will have snapped, more than likely causing your spindle to break or bend, also causing your lower ball join to let loose, at this time your wheels will free sping until they rip the axle out from your front diff, this said wheel or wheels will than fly into someone else vehicle causing thousands of dollars in damage, no to mention, your truck is going to slam onto the ground, the side in which the wheel has fallen off, and than cause EVEN more damage, which will include body damage

to sum it up - insurance investigator will find you ground the UCA's down therefore causing you to have no insurance

your repairs bills will skyrocket lets sum it up for one side

    700 for stock UCA
    300 - for labour
    1200 for spindle
    300 for labour
    700 for stock LCA
    300 for labour
    +
    +
    +

the potential of a lawsuit against you for not having properly inspected your vehicle after having performed a modification ..... do you really want all of that against you at 17...

I know i was dumb and stupid as a kid but come on, common sense

You spend all your money on bald tires that shouldn't have been put on your truck in the first place?

And it's a good thing we have you scared, it's a good warning not to drive your truck. I (as well as everyone else on here) am not joking when I/ we say that this is incredibly unsafe and someone is going to end up dead because of it

I am pretty sure that he is not taking this as serious as it should be taken. I don't think anything that we say is going to get him to stop driving this truck

    No common sense

when ever you change something on a daily driver you have to research things out first let that be lesson #1

lesson #2 listen to some of the guys on here the chap that just listed repair bills and such is 100% correct and the scary part is that best case scenario. imagine if this shit fails on the road and you end up in a really bad accident :/

no one is going to send you donations dude

but, someone might give you a set of stock wheels and tires to make you and more importantly other safe on the road. like i said i would give you mine if i didn't already sell them. btw, i had sold 5 brand new tires and wheels w, the sensors for 300 dollars i mean you can't beat that with a stick. a lot of guys are selling their stock wheels and tires buy a set & then begin to save your money for new uca's.

yeah i'm on the east coast and i have stock uca's from my regular cab 4x4 they have like 2k miles on them. i have every stock suspension part i took of originally but, in your case your going to really want to replace the upper control arms thats just unsafe. plain and simple
