I've been scouring the forum here for a bit and have not found a direct answer to my question.

I've got an '06 with the JBL factory system. I want to upgrade the HU but don't want to rework the entire system. I have sourced a 2010 JBL HU with the standard fair, XM and mp3 compatible, but want to make sure that if I add the steering wheel controls and mic that Bluetooth will work.

Are only some of the JBL units BT ready?

The radio will plug in, but the blue tooth module is separate and the microphone is on the top of the mirrors of the 09-11

So then other than the wheel controls and the mirror, there is another part to source?

Ya, from what I know you need the radio, controls, mic, and Bluetooth receiver module that is normally located behind around the climate controls...that's module is like the main piece needed IMO.
