That looks like they were dipped in tar.
Send them back.

 

Mine were not that messy with whatever coating they use, but yeah, they had some frosting on em.

 

I'd say if thats the inside edge....who cares.

 

Looks like squeeze out. Put together too soon before the coating dried. Cant say id be a fan of that.

 

The coating was still gooey when they arrived....

 

Can you just "cut" it off with a putty knife or something?

If there's extra goo in between the leafs it'll make them quieter

The ones I bought for my last truck had a nice, clean looking finish.

 

My thoughts too. Clean them up some, install, and move on.

 

Then maybe you just install them, and have the squeakiest mother fucking springs ever.

 

Doesn’t affect how they perform, I wouldn’t bother unless you get a partial refund or wiling to ship these back and wait for another set.

Well changed them out a few days ago, love these Stage 1 Deaver's, they rock, The OME Meds took a W set - total waste of $$$ POS leafs for certain.

 

Looks like he does not have this problem. I didn't think he would. Possibly the opposite...all that extra coating might help keep debris out from between the leaves and keep them silent for longer until it starts to crack from flexing. OP keep us posted. And enjoy.

 

Never have noise issues with leafs , all the fine dust smooths everything out in Southern AZ ))

 

What are you getting hub to fender in the rear?

I have a dclb with a shell and trying to decide between stage 1 and 2

 

AC bottom of tire to fender 40.5 inches runiing 285/75/r16
