I usually wheel at 16-20psi in the desert, no need for beadlocks at that pressure. I've never unseated a bead, and I've done my fair share of wheeling from rock crawling to jumping the truck.

I had traditional style wheels before (Ultra Type 164's), but the Method Double Standards just look so much better.

Not to mention, true beadlocks are illegal in CA.

True beadlocks are illegal in CA? Why? That confuses me.

    DOT is federal.
Are they illegal in all 50 states?

That's dumb. That's like making aftermarket headlights/retros illegal. Need them to drive your vehicle and it's mainly cosmetics. I know true beads have a use though.

California only cares about emissions and noise related equipment, beyond the basic CVC items that for the most part, parallel Federal standards.

I'm curious if the "off road use only" isn't more from the manufacturer's legal departments.

Haha, thanks. The Methods were high on my list as well.

They started out as silver, then light grey, then as you see here.

Key word being "style". The are for looks, so in that sense they are equally as lame and ok as, say, aluminum wheels as opposed to steel cheapo's.

Personally, I think they look pretty sharp, but not enough to drop cash on them over the alloys.
